Winsted City Council Minutes

REGULAR MEETING

SEPT. 18, 2000

CITY HALL

7 P.M.

Present: Floyd Sneer, Tom Wiemiller, Jeff Albers, Bob Kegler, Gary Lenz

Staff: Adminstr. Matt Podrhradsky, Clerk Betty Zachmann

Absent: Attorney Eggert

Mayor called the meeting to order.

Kegler motioned to accept the minutes of Sept. 5 as written, Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

After discussion of two volunteers for serving as Economic Development Authority members, Albers motioned to appoint Paul Weibel as a member, filling the position of Mary Stamm. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

It was reported the outside of the current city hall will have facia and soffits installed, and first layer of stucco placed on before winter, weather allowing.

Podrhradsky reported that Mediacom stated high speed access lines should be in place and ready to offer late December, early January.

Wiemiller motioned to approve a contract for assessing for the year 2001, in the amount of $6,552.00. Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

After discussion, and upon recommendation of the Airport Commission, Lenz motioned to accept a utility extension from NSP, to provide power sources to the proposed taxiway extension at the Airport (in order to allow for additional hangars), in the amount of $3,481.00. Albers seconded, unanimously carried.

Albers motioned to pay the following bills:

General 1875-1930 $168,241.00

Payroll 3566-3575 $8,562.06

Fire Dept. 3399-3410 $2,023.42

Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

Lenz motioned to accept the resignation of Rose Halloran, effective Sept. 29. Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

Podrhradsky reviewed a new job description for the position of Data Entry/Receptionist full time position. After discussion, Wiemiller motioned to accept the new job description. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Albers then motioned to advertise for the position, accepting applications until Oct. 6, 3:00 p.m., and to proceed with interviewing, bringing a recommendation back to the Council. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

There was no comment from the City Council to McLeod County Planning and Zoning Office, regarding a Conditional Use Permit requested for a dog kennel in Winsted Township.

No other business. Albers motioned to adjourn, Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.
