PUBLIC HEARING

TRUTH IN TAXATION

CITY HALL, 421 6TH ST. S.

DEC. 1, 1997

5 P.M.

Present: Don Guggemos, Gary Lenz, Bonnie Quast, Mark Ollig, Bob Kegler Absent: Attorney Eggert

Mayor called for the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing as posted. There were approximately seven taxpayers present, along with eight Boy Scouts in attendance.

The Council worked on the line item budget for several hours. Decreases were made throughout the budget, salary negotiations will be done within the month, and adjustments will be made accordingly.

Lenz motioned to decrease the Preliminary Budget, General Fund of $976,716 by $40,700, or $936,016. After HACA deduction the 1998 Tax Levy to the Auditor shall be as follows:

Bond Funds:$149,492 $149.492

Total Tax Levy 1998 $398,825

Quast seconded, unanimously carried. A Resolution will be prepared for adoption at the next meeting.

Ollig motioned to pay the following bills:

Check Nos 7551-7590 $60,767.61

Payroll Nos 2481-2492 7,817.19

Fire No 2890-2895 1,917.14

Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

Review of the 97 construction projects was done. Kegler motioned to approve Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $3,325 for removal of buried concrete, Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Lenz motioned to not approve Change Order No 2, in the amount of $3,000 to re-lay storm sewer to lower elevation, Quast seconded, unanimously carried.

Ollig motioned to enter into an Agreement for Solid Waste Abatement Funding in the amount of $21,630 for 1998, Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

Plat of Winsted On the Lake WW Capacity Report issues were tabled.

Lenz motioned, upon recommendation of the Airport Commission to rent some land to Winstock in 1998 at $150 per acre, plus full reimbursement of all real estate taxes, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.

Referendum voting will be done for the fire hall bond issue on Dec. 11, and canvassing of the ballots will be done on Dec. 12, 1997 at 9:00 by special meeting.

Lenz motioned to adjourn, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.
