Wright County Board Minutes
July 7, 2005
The Wright County Board held an emergency meeting at 11:30 A.M. with Heeter, Sawatzke, Mattson, Russek and Eichelberg present.
Bob Hiivala, Auditor/Treasurer, presented a request to approve a liquor license renewal for Rasset Bar & Grill in Chatham Township. The appropriate fees ($2950) have been collected for the emergency meeting, the liquor license, and the 2:00 A.M. closing. The application has been signed by the Sheriff and Attorney and insurance information has been submitted. Hiivala recommended approving the application subject to approval by Chatham Township and bank clearance of the personal check written for the fees.
Gloria Gooler, Administrative Confidential Secretary, said phone messages were left for both Deb Ebert and David Ebert regarding the requirement of a certified check for the emergency meeting fee. The Auditor’s Office contacted the bank but was unable to confirm clearance of the personal check.
On a motion by Heeter, second by Eichelberg, all voted to approve the liquor license renewal for Rasset Bar & Grill contingent upon approval by Chatham Township and bank clearance of the personal check for all fees. The business is allowed to sell liquor effective 7-08-05 if the above requirements are met.
The current Emergency Meeting Policy requires the applicant to provide a $250 cashiers check to the County prior to the Emergency Meeting. Sawatzke requested that the Policy be revised to include requiring a cashiers check for the liquor license fee as well. Hiivala will bring this Policy revision to a future Board Meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 11:35 A.M.
