Realtor Jeff Campbell believes in the Golden Rule

Jeff Campbell, Realtor for Independent Broker’s Realty (IBR), and his wife Michelle, just purchased their first home together. Campbell tries to put himself in the buyers’ shoes when helping find a home for his client.

IBR offers a low commission program which rewards the homeowner or agent if they find a buyer before another agent does.

For example, if the homeowner finds the buyer, the IBR agent will receive only a 2 percent commission rather than 4 percent if Campbell were to or 5 percent if an outside agent would find the buyer.

Having previously owned the Blue Note Bar and Restaurant, Campbell has a passion for serving others. Being a Realtor, this allows Campbell to serve his clients in one of the most important decisions in their life.

In his first year, Campbell has had 15 closings and has worked on a variety of purchases including a 50-acre farm, town homes, vacant land, and old and new construction.

‘The variety keeps my job interesting,” Campbell said.

It also allows him to gain experience in a gamut of areas. For example, working with the vacant land, Campbell worked with surveyors and ground testing.

Campbell really enjoys working with first-time home buyers because he can put himself in their shoes, he said.

“It’s a big, financial step. It’s something I don’t take lightly,” Campbell said.

He will work with the buyer/buyers to get credit help if needed, work with lenders and find the home that suits both their needs and wants.

For example, after his clients receive a quote from the mortgage lender, Campbell will sit with them and write a list of their needs and wants and determines a location. After that, he searches the Multiple Listing Service and emails possible homes to the client directly.

For all first-time home buyers, Campbell waives the $200 administrative fee to relieve some of the financial burden in buying a new home.

Campbell realizes as an agent, the importance of understanding his clients needs and wants and working with them in their best interests.
