   Silver Lake residential housing

By Linda Scherer
Staff Writer

Silver Lake is located west of the Twin Cities on Highway 7. It has a current population of 791. That is up 4 percent since the 2000 census.

The newest residential construction in Silver Lake is Silver Edge Estates on Century Lane by developer David Broll. With the second phase of a 63-single family housing development nearing completion, the third and final phase could begin in 2007.

Once this project nears completion, the commission hopes to move on to the next residential development in an effort to manage residential growth in conjunction with the city’s comprehensive plan.
