Greetings from the Prairie

Get to know your neighbors in our friendly little town

By Mayor Eric Angvall

Nestled to the west of the metro area, yet close enough to experience all that it has to offer, Lester Prairie is a quiet and friendly place.

Although we do not have a major highway passing through our town, or major industry spewing forth noise and smoke, we do have lots of other important things to offer: a chance to get involved with your neighbors, peace and quiet, woodland animals nearby and beautiful starlit evenings, to name a few.

Lester Prairie is the kind of town where “everyone knows your name.”

In this fast-paced world, we offer the opportunity to relax and unwind. Stroll around the town. Greet your neighbors and get to know them.

Meet them at the post office while on your morning walk. See them around town as you do your shopping locally. Visit with them at a high school game.

Get to know the teachers as your friends. Become a member of one of the churches in town. Join the Lions Club or the archery club. Volunteer at the local school. Become involved with the American Legion, the Girls Scouts or the Boy Scouts. Lester Prairie offers many opportunities!

A sense of community will be created by shopping and participating locally.

This sense of community will bring you enjoyment as you join our town and make it yours, too!
