Nature is close to home at county parks
The peaceful park offers a scenic canoe access, more than one mile of river frontage, a picnic area, a primitive canoe campsite, and a historic memorial. The park is named after Humphrey, who was a “vice president of the United States, a United States Senator, pioneer of Food for Peace, the Peace Corps, and a champion and friend to the family farmer,” according to Ralph G. Arends, a “family farmer, farm cooperator, farmer’s union advocate, community builder, exponent of democratic self help and good citizenship,” according to the marker.
