Housing options abound
Montrose The City of Montrose has grown at a dramatic rate over the past few years, and that growth will continue with a number of new developments in the works. More than 13 new development are either in the planning stage or under construction. Based on the number of units planned, these developments would result in more than 1,800 single-family units and nearly 700 townhome units when complete. Developments include: Rolling Meadows, which is located north along Wright County Road 12, and Forest Creek, to its west. Northridge is located north along Wright County Road 12 (Buffalo Avenue) on the northwest end of the city, with 173 single-family homes and 54 townhouses. Rockbrook is south of Highway 12 on Highway 25, and will offer 48 single-family homes and 18 townhomes. Pheasant Hills, on the north side of town, and Parkview will open the final phases in 2004. Rockbrook - Housing and rental units - A new development planned for the south edge of Montrose. It will have a mix of 64 apartment (condo) units, 48 single-family homes, and 12 townhomes. Villager Apartments - Rental units located at 260 Buffalo Avenue N. For more information, call (763) 675-3888. Waverly Waverly is growing rapidly, with many new residential projects in the works. There are also plans for a commercial park adjacent to Wright County Road 8. The housing will consist of upper scale homes located within a planned unit development that will be operated by a homeowners’ association. This will offer common areas for its residents, as well as a maintenance-free environment. The Carrigan Estates development will offer 54 single-family homes in the first phase, with a total of 85 to be built south of Highway 12. The homes will be part of an association, which will take care of yard maintenance and other chores. The association homes will have access to Carrigan Lake. The price range starts at $200,000. In addition, Carrigan Estates will offer upscale lakeshore homes along Carrigan Lake. The third phase of the Summerfields development was completed. The residential development consists of 52 lots. A three-acre park facility will serve the entire development. Carrigan Meadows residential development includes a total of 250 lots being offered, when all phases are completed. Thirty-two acres of industrial land platted with the Carrigan Meadows development is now owned by Stevens West 2. The third addition of Carrigan Meadows is now in development stages and should be completed in 2005. Sixty lots are being offered in this phase. Woodland Shores is a development located on the southeast area of Carrigan Lake. Development work is underway for the first phase of the project. There will be 83 residential homes available in the first addition. Creative Development and Real Estate Services is working with their own builder to construct the homes. Each home will be provided an unscreened gazebo.
