TUESDAY, MARCH 31

2:45 a.m. — The sheriff’s office, Winsted Police Department, Lester Prairie First Responders and the Ridgeview Ambulance all responded to a medical alarm at a residence on 215th Street, southwest of Winsted. There was no transport.

7:04 a.m. — A possible theft was reported on County Road 2, north of Glencoe.

8:12 a.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a possible violation of a restraining order on 175th Street, south of Lester Prairie.

10:02 a.m. — A deputy responded to a requested welfare check of a person on 200th Street, west of Silver Lake. Everything was fine.

10:49 a.m. — A complaint was received regarding a fire in the area of 177th Street and Nickel Avenue, east of Hutchinson. A deputy spoke with the landowner.

4:28 p.m. — A deputy checked on a controlled burn on 120th Street, northwest of Glencoe, after receiving a complaint.

7:32 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Minnesota State Patrol, Hutchinson Fire Department and Hutchinson Ambulance all responded to a one-vehicle accident in the area of Yacht Avenue and York Road, southwest of Hutchinson. The vehicle was a 2006 Chevrolet HHR, owned by Donna Stark of Buffalo and driven by Joshua Stark, 32, of Buffalo Lake. Joshua Stark was taken by ambulance to the Hutchinson hospital and then to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

11:31 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Stewart First Responders and Buffalo Lake Ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Herbert Street in Stewart. The person was taken by ambulance to the Hutchinson hospital.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

2:24 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Brownton Police Department with a requested welfare check of an individual on Second Street N in Brownton. The person was not at the address.

4:40 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a three-vehicle accident on Highway 7 near Dairy Avenue, northwest of Lester Prairie. Also responding were the Lester Prairie Fire Department and Ridgeview Ambulance. There was one fatality.

12:52 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of harassment at a residence on 175th Street, south of Lester Prairie.

1:30 p.m. — Bullet holes were reportedly found in the siding of a house on 220th Street, northeast of Hutchinson.

2:32 p.m. — A deputy and the Hutchinson Ambulance responded to a medical at a residence on 196th Road, west of Hutchinson. The person was taken to the Hutchinson hospital by ambulance.

3:03 p.m. — The sheriff’s office and Glencoe and Plato fire departments assisted at a grass fire southwest of Glencoe in Sibley County.

3:24 p.m. — The Plato and Hamburg fire departments and the sheriff’s office responded to a sparking power line that caused a grass fire on Zebra Avenue, south of Plato. Xcel Energy also responded. The fire was extinguished.

6:51 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department with a domestic situation at a residence on 10th Street E in Glencoe. The situation was mediated.

6:59 p.m. — A bonfire was reported on Cable Avenue, west of Lester Prairie, during the burning ban. The fire was out and it had started to rain before a deputy arrived. The deputy spoke to the home owners regarding the burning ban.

7:22 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department and the Glencoe Fire Department with a possible house fire from a lightning strike on Ash Street NE in Glencoe. There was no fire.

THURSDAY, APRIL 2

1:03 a.m. — A deputy responded to a car-deer accident in the area of Highway 7 and Falcon Avenue, east of Silver Lake. There were no injuries.

2:22 a.m. — Multiple reports were received of an injured deer in the area of Highway 7 and Falcon Avenue, east of Silver Lake. A deputy dispatched the deer.

6:40 a.m. — A car-deer accident was reported in the area of County Road 7 and Ulm Avenue, northeast of Stewart. There were no injuries.

10:20 a.m. — The sheriff’s office, Stewart First Responders and Buffalo Lake Ambulance responded to a medical at a business on South Street in Stewart. A person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

3:37 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with a gas drive-off from a business on Highway 7 E in Hutchinson. The driver was stopped and paid for the gas.

7:05 p.m. — A deputy and the Stewart First Responders responded to a medical on Powers Street in Stewart. A deputy took a juvenile to the Hutchinson hospital and contacted the juvenile’s parents.

FRIDAY, APRIL 3

3:01 a.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a fight at a residence on 50th Street, southeast of Stewart. The fight was no longer in progress when deputies arrived and the individuals were separated.

9:26 a.m. — A deputy responded to a report of property damage on 175th Street, south of Lester Prairie. The reporting individual was advised that it was a civil issue.

4:09 p.m. — A theft was reported on Zero Avenue, northeast of Plato.

4:28 p.m. — The sheriff’s office and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted the Lester Prairie Police Department with a hit-and-run accident at a business on Juniper Street N in Lester Prairie. The state trooper found the vehicle in Silver Lake and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.

8:50 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Hutchinson First Responders and Hutchinson Ambulance responded to a medical at a residence on Major Avenue, northeast of Hutchinson. There was no transport.

SATURDAY, APRIL 4

12:39 a.m. — A deputy came upon a person walking on the roadway in the area of County Road 7 and Lake Hook Road, northeast of Hutchinson. The individual’s vehicle had broken down, and the deputy gave them a ride home.

1:43 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department and Hutchinson Ambulance with a medical at a residence on Fourth Avenue SW in Hutchinson. The person was taken by ambulance to the Hutchinson hospital.

9:35 a.m. — A deputy responded to an animal complaint on Hamlet Avenue, east of Silver Lake.

9:37 a.m. — A deputy dispatched an injured animal in the area of Fourth Avenue NW and James Street NW in Hutchinson.

10:40 a.m. — A deputy responded to a reported fire on Essex Court, northeast of Glencoe. The person had a permit and everything was legal.

12:48 p.m. — A deputy responded to a reported theft at a cemetery on Highway 15, north of Hutchinson.

1:03 p.m. — A deputy checked on a fire on Eagle Avenue, northeast of Glencoe, and issued a verbal warning.

6:58 p.m. — A suspicious person was reported on 115th Drive, northwest of Brownton. A deputy spoke to all involved.

8:37 p.m. — A motor vehicle property damage accident was reported in the area of County Road 2 and 80th Street, south of Glencoe. The accident actually occurred in Sibley County, and the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office was notified. There were no injuries.

8:45 p.m. — There was a report of shots being fired near a residence on 140th Street, south of Biscay. Officers spoke with individuals, and everything was fine. Also responding was the Minnesota State Patrol.

SUNDAY, APRIL 5

7:46 a.m. — A deputy checked on a couple of loose horses in the area of 210th Street and Major Avenue, northeast of Hutchinson, and contacted the owner.

10:04 a.m. — A deputy responded to a child custody dispute on Orange Avenue, east of Hutchinson, and advised the involved people of their options.

1:34 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol and Hutchinson Police Department, responded to a requested welfare check of a resident on 202nd Circle, north of Hutchinson. A Hutchinson officer took the person to the hospital for evaluation.

3:03 p.m. — Tabs were reported stolen from a vehicle on Major Avenue, northeast of Hutchinson.

3:19 p.m. — A report was received of a possible downed power line near the intersection of Highway 212 and Highway 15, west of Brownton. A state trooper checked on it and advised it was a kite string.

5:54 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with a domestic situation at a business on Highway 15 S in Hutchinson. A Hutchinson officer arrested one person and took them to the McLeod County Jail.

7:36 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a possible burglary at a vacant home on Highway 15, north of Hutchinson.

8:20 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a car-deer accident in the area of County Road 2 and 160th Street, north of Glencoe. There were no injuries.

MONDAY, APRIL 6

2:05 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Brownton Police Department with a medical emergency on First Avenue S in Brownton. Also responding were the Brownton First Responders and the Hutchinson Ambulance. The person was taken to the Hutchinson hospital, where they passed away. The death investigator was notified.

2:45 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department with an unruly customer at a business on 11th Street E.

5:10 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department with a verbal domestic in a vehicle on 13th Street W in Glencoe. The individuals were separated.

10:20 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Winsted Police Department, Winsted First Responders and Ridgeview Ambualnce with a medical at a business on Fairlawn Avenue in Winsted. The person was taken by ambulance to the Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.
