Tuesday, July 29

2:58 a.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a one-vehicle rollover in the area of 120th Street and Falcon Avenue, north of Glencoe. Also responding were the Glencoe Fire Department and the Glencoe Ambulance. A 2000 Mercury Cougar, owned and driven by Hunter Allen Keck, 18, of Glencoe, had over $1,000 in damage. Keck was taken to the Glencoe hospital by ambulance.

9:26 a.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a theft at a business on Ninth Street, east of Glencoe.

11:42 a.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to another report of a theft from a business on Highway 7, east of Hutchinson.

5:40 p.m. — A deputy came upon a vehicle in a ditch in the area of Major Avenue and 155th Street, north of Biscay. There were no injuries and no damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was removed from the ditch.

6:21 p.m. — A burglary was reported at an address on Highway 7, west of Silver Lake.

Wednesday, July 30

Midnight — A medical emergency was reported at a residence on Herbert Street in Stewart. Responding were the Stewart First Responders, the Buffalo Lake Ambulance and the Allina Ambulance. The person was taken to the Hutchinson hospital.

3:49 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police with a fight at a business on Highway 15 South in Hutchinson. A deputy also assisted one of the individuals involved by providing a civil standby afterward at a residence on Powers Street in Stewart.

6:33 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at an address on 140th Street, north of Stewart.

10:57 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a two-vehicle accident in the area of Highway 15 and Airport Road, south of Hutchinson. Also responding were the Hutchinson Police, the Allina Ambulance and the Hutchinson Fire Department. There were no injuries. One person was arrested by the State Patrol and taken to the McLeod County Jail.

Thursday, July 31

5:55 a.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a car-deer accident in the area of 30th Street and Highway 15, southwest of Brownton. There were no injuries.

8:38 a.m. — A two-vehicle accident was reported in the area of County Road 2 and 155th Street, north of Glencoe. Also responding was the Glencoe Ambulance. There were no injuries. Involved were a 2003 Ford F150 pickup, owned and driven by Michael Gerard Popelka, 52, of Glencoe, and a 2002 Ford Focus wagon, owned by Star Group LLC of new Ulm and driven by Darla Rae Hartwig, 49, of Hutchinson. Each vehicle had over $1,000 in damage.

8:25 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Silver Lake First Responders and Silver Lake Ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Lace Avenue, northwest of Silver Lake. The individual was taken to the Hutchinson hospital by ambulance.

9:05 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police with a fight at a home on DeSoto Avenue in Glencoe.

9:19 p.m. — The sheriff’s office checked on a vehicle in the area of Highway 7 and Falcon Avenue, east of Silver Lake. An individual was having a hard time breathing, and the deputy called for an ambulance, which transported the person to the Glencoe hospital.

10:33 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Winsted Police, the Winsted Fire Department with a carbon monoxide detector that was activated at a business on Fairlawn Avenue in Winsted. As a result, nine people were taken to hospitals. Assisting with the situation were the Ridgeview Ambulance, St. Bonifacious Fire Department and the Silver Lake Ambulance.

11:28 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a verbal domestic on Imperial Avenue, northwest of Glencoe. The situation was mediated.

Friday, Aug. 1

4:29 a.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Babcock Avenue and 80th Street, south of Plato. The driver, Kevin John Stoeckman, 41, of Arlington, was arrested for probable cause of driving while intoxicated and taken to the McLeod County Jail in Glencoe.

10:08 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police and the Glencoe Ambulance with a medical emergency at a business on Ninth Street East in Glencoe. An individual was taken to the Glencoe hospital by ambulance.

6:15 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police with a trespass complaint on McDonald Drive SW in Hutchinson.

7:36 p.m. — The sheriff’s office and Xcel Energy responded to a report of some farm machinery that had hooked a power line on McLeod Avenue in Plato.

9:26 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of gunfire in the area of 120th Street, north of Brownton, but was unable to locate the source of the noise.

11:05 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a driving complaint in the area of Highway 212 and Dairy Avenue, east of Glencoe. A deputy pulled the vehicle over and issued a verbal warning.

Saturday, Aug. 2

1:37 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Silver Lake Police with a large fight in the area of Central Street NW and Oliver Avenue in Silver. Also responding was the Minnesota State Patrol. The situation was mediated.

1:59 a.m. — Andrew Dale Lyrek, 25, of Lester Prairie, was arrested for a probable cause charge of driving while intoxicated after a deputy made a traffic stop in the area of County Road 9 and Central Avenue in Lester Prairie. A passenger was arrested on a probable cause charge of obstruction of the legal process. Both were taken to the McLeod County Jail in Glencoe.

3:13 a.m. — The sheriff’s office and Glencoe Ambulance responded to a medical emergency at a residence on 120th Street, northwest of Glencoe. The person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

6:16 a.m. — The sheriff’s office, Lester Prairie First Responders and Ridgeview Ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Babcock Avenue, north of Lester Prairie.

6:20 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police with a domestic disturbance on Baldwin Avenue in Glencoe. A male was arrested by the Glencoe officer.

6:49 a.m. — A deputy responded to damage to a vehicle at a business on Eighth Street W in Glencoe.

12:43 p.m. — The sheriff’s office investigated damage to a vehicle on Bowman Street in Stewart.

7:40 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a car-deer accident in the area of Falcon Avenue and 160th Street, north of Glencoe. There were no injuries.

8:36 p.m. — A deputy checked on a vehicle in the area of Highway 7 and Cable Avenue, northwest of Glencoe. The deputy had the vehicle towed.

9:40 p.m. — A deputy responded to a driving complaint from Renville County on South Street in Stewart. A deputy stopped the vehicle and, as a result, Pedro Quixan Ralios, 40, of Stewart, was arrested for probable cause charge of driving while intoxicated and taken to the McLeod County Jail in Glencoe.

10:51 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police and the Glencoe Ambulance with a medical emergency at a business on 11th Street W in Glencoe.

Sunday, Aug. 3

1:47 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police in an attempt to find a female and a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found on Texas Avenue in Hutchinson; the female was not located.

10:06 a.m. — A wallet was found in the city park in Silver Lake; a deputy returned it to its owner.

12:46 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police with a domestic at a residence on Hennepin Avenue N in Glencoe.

3:09 p.m. — The sheriff’s office and Glencoe Fire Department responded to a fire in a field on 100th Street, northeast of Glencoe. It was a controlled burn.

5:22 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office with a medical emergency on Zane Avenue, south of Stewart. Also responding were the Stewart First Responders.

8:01 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a child custody dispute on Bowman Street in Stewart.

8:34 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a safe that was found in the woods off of County Road 7, south of Hutchinson.

11 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of loose cows in the area of Highway 212 and Orange Avenue, east of Brownton. Also responding was the Brownton Police. The owner was located and the cows were corralled. More calls were received the next morning; a deputy responded and the cattle were again corralled.

Monday, Aug. 4

8:30 a.m. — The sheriff’s office, Hutchinson First Responders and Allina Ambulance responded to a medical on 225th Street, north of Hutchinson. The individual had passed away, and the death investigator and local funeral home were requested to respond to the scene.

2:48 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the State Patrol with a boat that had come off a trailer in the area of Highway 15 and 232nd Street, north of Hutchinson.

4:19 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Silver Lake Police with an assault on Lake Avenue in Silver Lake. The situation was mediated.

6:18 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted Glencoe Police with an unwanted person at a business on Hennepin Avenue North in Glencoe. A deputy took the individual home.

9:33 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Stewart First Responders and Buffalo Lake Ambulance were called to a medical emergency on Bowman Street in Stewart. The person was taken to the Glencoe hospital by ambulance.

9:50 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted Hutchinson Police with a theft that was reported at a business on Washington Avenue in Hutchinson.

10 p.m. — A report was received of an individual sitting in a ditch in the area of Highway 15 and 240th Street, north of Hutchinson. A deputy gave the person a ride into Hutchinson.

10:39 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police with a domestic on McDonald Drive SW in Hutchinson. One person was arrested by the Hutchinson officer.

11:52 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police with a disturbance at an apartment on 11th Avenue NE in Hutchinson.
