TUESDAY, AUG. 11

12:51 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Silver Lake Police Department, Silver Lake Ambulance and Silver Lake First Responders with a medical at a business on Highway 7 in Silver Lake. There was no transport to the hospital.

3:54 a.m. — The sheriff’s office, Silver Lake First Responders and Silver Lake Ambulance responded to a medical at a residence on 220th Street, north of Silver Lake. A person was taken by ambulance to the Hutchinson hospital.

7:20 a.m. — The sheriff’s office and Lester Prairie Police Department assisted the Winsted Police Department in finding a person missing from a residence on Fourth Street N in Winsted. The person was found in Lester Prairie, and everything was fine.

2:32 p.m. — A deputy responded to a requested welfare check at a residence on Bowman Street in Stewart. Everything was fine.

4:54 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of 20th Street and Pilot Avenue, south of Brownton. Involved were a 2012 Dodge Ram, owned by J&D Sales of Eau Claire, Wis., driven by Richard Allen Bergstrom, 47, of Austin, and a 2001 Ford Ranger, owned and driven by Marcus Jerome Schmidt, 23, of Gibbon. Each vehicle had over $1,000 in damage. A citation was issued to Schmidt.

8:02 p.m. — Deputies mediated a domestic situation on Martha Street in Stewart.

9:18 p.m. — The Brownton Fire Department and the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a house filled with smoke on 75th Street, east of Brownton. There was no fire, just smoke from an appliance.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 12

4:59 a.m. — The Plato Fire Department and the sheriff’s office responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on First Avenue NE in Plato. Everything was fine.

2:03 p.m. — Deputies responded to a call regarding weapons on 12th Street in Glencoe. They advised individuals of the city ordinance.

4:22 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department in finding a missing juvenile in Glencoe, who was found.

4:47 p.m. — A deputy responded to a hit-and-run accident on Martha Street in Stewart.

8:16 p.m. — A deputy took a property damage report on 180th Street, south of Silver Lake.

11:18 p.m. — A deputy spoke with individuals who were reportedly lying in the road on 212th Street, north of Lester Prairie.

THURSDAY, AUG. 13

12:36 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with a fight at a business on Third Avenue SE in Hutchinson.

4:34 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with an assault at a residence on School Road N in Hutchinson.

5:04 a.m. — The sheriff’s office and the Glencoe Ambulance responded to a medical on 461st Avenue, south of Glencoe, in Sibley County. A person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

7:29 a.m. — Loose horses were reported in the area of 200th Street and Omega Avenue, east of Hutchinson. The horses were corralled.

7:42 a.m. — The Hutchinson Fire Department, Hutchinson Ambulance and the sheriff’s office responded to a garage fire on Ulm Court, northwest of Hutchinson. The fire was extinguished, and there were no injuries.

1:44 p.m. — A deputy took a damage-to-property report on Major Avenue, east of Hutchinson.

6:28 p.m. — Possible fraud was reported at a residence on 212th Street, south of Winsted. A deputy advised the complainant of their options.

9:24 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with a domestic at an apartment complex on Jefferson Street SE in Hutchinson. The situation was mediated.

10:44 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a domestic on Undulate Court, southwest of Hutchinson. As a result, Timothy Harlan Wendlandt, 55, was arrested on a probable cause charge of domestic assault and taken to the McLeod County Jail in Glencoe.

FRIDAY, AUG. 14

6:07 a.m. — Suspicious vehicles were reported on York Road, southwest of Hutchinson. A deputy checked and discovered the vehicles belonged to hunters.

6:32 a.m. — A deputy assisted in rounding up some loose ponies in the roadway on 200th Street, northeast of Hutchinson.

10:24 a.m. — The Silver Lake Fire Department and the sheriff’s office responded to a carbon monoxide detector alarm at a residence on 207th Street, northeast of Silver Lake. The home was evacuated and the gas company notified.

11:43 a.m. — A deputy helped move a disabled vehicle out of traffic in the area of 13th Street and Hennepin Avenue in Glencoe.

2:51 p.m. — The sheriff’s office received a complaint of animal neglect on 245th Street, east of Winsted. A deputy checked on the animals, spoke with the owner, and determined the complaint was unfounded.

4:38 p.m. — A deputy responded to a burglary on 50th Street, southwest of Brownton. Extra patrol will be provided in the area.

4:41 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department and the Glencoe Ambulance with a medical on Prairie Avenue in Glencoe. A person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

5:40 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Hutchinson Police Department and Hutchinson Ambulance with a medical at a residence on Southview Drive SW in Hutchinson. A person was taken to the Hutchinson hospital by ambulance.

5:51 p.m. — A report was received of a domestic situation occurring on a roadway in the area of Jefferson Road S and 160th Street, southeast of Hutchinson. However, no one was around when deputies arrived.

6:12 p.m. — A computer scam was reported at a residence on 225th Street, southwest of Winsted.

8:02 p.m. — The sheriff’s office and the Glencoe Ambulance responded to a medical on 125th Street, northeast of Glencoe. A person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

8:28 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of debris in the roadway in the area of Dairy Avenue and 165th Street, southeast of Lester Prairie. A deputy moved the debris off the roadway.

9:56 p.m. — Deputies assisted the Hutchinson Police Department with a report of a possibly suicidal juvenile at a residence on Highway 7 in Hutchinson. A Hutchinson officer took the juvenile to the hospital for evaluation.

SATURDAY, AUG. 15

12:02 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Winsted Police Department in mediating a domestic at a residence on Westgate Terrace in Winsted.

2:34 p.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department and Glencoe Fire Department with a gas leak on Armstrong Avenue N in Glencoe. The gas was shut off and the gas company notified.

3:20 p.m. — A deputy assisted the Glencoe Police Department with a disturbance at a residence on 12th Street E in Glencoe.

4:23 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Silver Lake Ambulance, Silver Lake Fire Department, Glencoe Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a motorcycle accident in the area of 180th Street and County Road 2, southeast of Silver Lake. The owner and driver of the motorcycle, Nancy Jean Piehl, 62, of Silver Lake, was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital. The motorcycle, a 2004 Harley Davidson, had over $1,000 in damage.

5:28 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, Silver Lake First Responders and Silver Lake Ambulance responded to a medical at a residence on Ideal Avenue, south of Silver Lake. A person was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital.

SUNDAY, AUG. 16

12:43 a.m. — A suspicious person was reported near a residence on Kale Avenue, northwest of Silver Lake. A deputy checked the area but was unable to locate anyone.

1:25 a.m. — A suspicious vehicle was reported near a residence on 108th Circle, east of Glencoe. The vehicle was gone before a deputy arrived.

3:57 a.m. — The sheriff’s office assisted the Glencoe Police Department with a report of a suspicious person at a residence on DeSoto Avenue in Glencoe. Officers were unable to find the person.

7:02 p.m. — A deputy and a tow truck assisted in moving a vehicle that was blocking traffic in the area of Highway 7 and Major Avenue, east of Hutchinson.

7:05 p.m. — The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near a residence on Tagus Avenue, north of Hutchinson. Deputies were unable to located the vehicle, but there will be extra patrol in the area.

MONDAY, AUG. 17

12:49 a.m. — The sheriff’s office Silver Lake First Responders and Silver Lake Ambulance all responded to a medical at a residence on 240th Street, north of Silver Lake. A person was taken by ambulance to the Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.

8:28 a.m. — A complaint was received of mud on the road in the area of 80th Street and Falcon Avenue, south of Glencoe. A deputy spoke with the business owner about having the mud cleaned off.

1:53 p.m. — A deputy checked on some animals on Meeker/

McLeod Avenue, west of Hutchinson, after a complaint was received about possible animal neglect. The animals appeared to be health.

3:48 p.m. — A request was received to have a person removed from a residence on Upsala Lane, northwest of Hutchinson. The person was gone before a deputy arrived. The deputy issued a trespass form.

6:19 p.m. — An wanted person was reported at an address on Belle Lake Road, north of Hutchinson. The person had left the residence, but a deputy located him and spoke to him about the issue.

8:04 p.m. — Cows were reported out on County Road 9, north of Lester Prairie. The owner was notified by a deputy.

8:08 p.m. — Appliances were illegally dumped in the area of 160th Street and Garden Avenue, north of Glencoe. A deputy issued a report to the solid waste department.

11 p.m. — The sheriff’s office, assisted by the Brownton Police Department, responded to a family domestic at a residence on Highway 15, southwest of Brownton. The situation was mediated.
