Local students on dean’s lists

Joseph Offerdahl of Delano was recently named to the 2009 fall semester honors list at Vermillion Community College in Ely, for earning a 3.0 grade point average for the semester.

Eric Dahl of Delano was recently named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at Rochester Community & Technical College, for earning a grade point average between 3.0 and 4.0 for courses completed in the semester ending this past December.

Several area students were recently named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. The students are: from Delano – Sarah Bingea, who attends the College of Education and Human Sciences and majors in elementary education; Wyatt Hayes, who attends the College of Business and majors in management; and Emily Knudson, who attends the College of Business and majors in business administration; and from Montrose – Elizabeth Reinert, who attends the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and majors in nursing.

Kayla Kassulker of Delano was recently named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota in Morris, for earning a grade point average of 3.67 or higher and completing a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.

Abie Vick of Delano was named to the honors list at the Minnesota State University in Mankato, for earning a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average and being enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for a grade.

Two students from Delano were recently named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota in Duluth, for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The students are: Tyler Atkinson, who attends the College of Liberal Arts for an undeclared major; and Jonathan Woodward, who attends the College of Liberal Arts and majors in Spanish.

Local students graduate college

Three area students graduated Dec. 20 from St. Cloud State University. The students are: from Delano – Vanessa Bradseth, with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice studies; from Montrose – Joshua Burkett, with a bachelor of science degree in finance; and Nicole Wolf, with a master of business administration degree in business administration.

Three students from Delano graduated in fall 2009 from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Christopher Bingea graduated with a bachelor of science degree in manufacturing engineering; Tanner Motzko graduated with a bachelor of science degree in construction management; and Jenna Wurzer graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

Birth: Alan James Helfman

Alan and Erica Helfman of Montrose are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Alan James Helfman, Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at the Buffalo Hospital.

Alan weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.

Birth: Garrett Daniel Anderson

Dan and Dawn Anderson of Montrose are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Garrett Daniel Anderson, Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at the Buffalo Hospital.

Garrett weighed 7 pounds, 7.4 ounces, and measured 19.75 inches long.
