Local students on dean’s lists

Lindsay Kestner, daughter of Jacquelyn and David Beneke of Delano, and Brian and Joyce Schneewind of Waconia, was recently named to the 2009 spring honorable mention list at Crown College in St. Bonifacius. Lindsay is a 2005 graduate of Waconia High School.

Amollia Botz recently received the Chancellor’s Award for the 2009 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin in Stout, WI for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Jordan Lemmerman, son of Tom and Kristin Lemmerman of Delano, was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Central Lakes College in Staples.

Tyler Geyen of Delano was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter for earning a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for the semester.

Several local students were recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Minnesota State University in Mankato. Students earning a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 were named to the honors list, and those earning a 4.0 were named to the high honor list. The students are: from Delano – Jacqueline Janning, a senior, high honors; Maggie Klason, a senior, honors; David Madden, a freshman, honors; Ryan Schaust, a senior, honors; Averi Shrode, a sophomore, honors; Melissa Smith, a junior, honors; Samantha Young, a junior, honors; Eric Zimmerman, a senior, honors; and Laura Zulkosky, a junior, honors; from Montrose – Matthew Bauman, a senior, high honors; and John Berglund, a senior, honors.

Katie Stevens, daughter of Jon and Brenda Stevens of Delano, was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato for earning a grade point average of at least 3.5 and carrying at least 14 academic credits.

Emily Petersen of Montrose was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI, where she is a senior majoring in chemical engineering, for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

John Matthiesen, son of Edward and Rebecca Mathiesen of Delano, was recently named to the 2009 winter and May term dean’s list at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, for earning a grade point average of 3.5 in at least five course credits during the two terms.

Joanna Arnold, daughter of Charles and Robin Arnold of Delano, was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at Bethel University in St. Paul, where she is majoring in history, for earning a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

Jennifer Van Beusekom of Montrose was recently named to the 2009 spring semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin in Stout, WI, where she is majoring in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management, for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Local students graduate college

Dustin Schaust of Delano graduated with departmental honors and a bachelor of accounting degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota in Duluth May 16.

Travis Voltin of Delano graduated with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design from Arts Institute International in Minneapolis June 19.

Jayne Lady of Delano graduated with a juris doctor degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA this spring.

Amanda Bartos, daughter of Les and Sharon Bartos of Montrose, graduated recently with a degree in music education from the Day College program at Augsburg College in Rochester.

Eric Stewart receives scholarship

Eric Stewart, son of James and Ardis Stewart of Delano and a 2008 graduate of Delano High School, was awarded the Calvin W. and Mary E. Quail Memorial Scholarship in Music for the 2009-10 school year at South Dakota State University. The award is in recognition of the Quail’s appreciation to past and present marching band members at the university.

Engagement: Rocky Roskowiak and Kristina Lorinser

Together with their parents, Kristina Lorinser and Rocky Roskowiak would like to announce their engagement.

The couple will be married Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Church of St. Mary of Czestochowa in Delano. A reception will follow in Watertown.
