Hendrickson receives scholarship
Zachery Hendrickson, son of Steven and Mary Hendrickson of Cokato, was recently awarded the Presidential Scholarship for the 2008-09 school year from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. This scholarship, valued at $26,000 over four years, is based on high school grade point average and national standardized test scores. Zachery is a senior at Dassel Cokato High School.
Engagement: Laura Latt and Jeffrey Jenkins
Mark and Trudy Latt are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Latt, to Jeffrey Jenkins, son of Daniel and Patti Hamm and Marvin Jenkins.
Laura is a 1999 graduate of Dassel Cokato High School. In 2002, she graduated from University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, Wis., with a dual degree in business administration and Spanish. She completed her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in healthcare administration in 2005. Laura is employed in the hospital CEO track with Community Health Systems, currently working at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Ala.
Jeff is a 1999 graduate of Silver Creek in Sellersburg, Ind. He then graduated from Indiana State University in 2002, with a degree in aerospace technology, and is currently a pilot for Charter Services Inc., in Mobile, Ala.
A Saturday, June 7, 2008 wedding is planned at Laura’s parents’ home on Lake Jennie south of Dassel.
Engagement: Rhea Davison and Owen Edwards
Mary and Steve Davison of Dassel are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Rhea Davison, to Owen Edwards, son of Jean and Bob Edwards of Ishpeming, Mich.
Rhea, a 2000 graduate of Dassel Cokato High School, earned a bachelor of arts degree in English at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.
Owen earned a bachelor of arts degree in piano performance, and is now pursuing a master’s degree at Central Michigan University.
The wedding will take place Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Ridgewood Church in Minnetonka. The couple will live in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. They are excited to begin their new life together, and thank God for His many blessings.
Birth: Michael Robert Mumford
Glen and Karen Mumford of Howard Lake are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Michael Robert Mumford, Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Monticello/Big Lake Hospital. Michael weighed 9 pounds 15 ounces, and measured 20 1/2 inches long. Michael is welcomed home by his siblings, Tyler, Emilee, and Charles.
Proud grandparents are Don and Adell Mumford of Dassel, and Erv and Hollie Hagen of Fergus Falls.
Birth: Jack Christopher Madsen
Peter and Jennifer Madsen of Lester Prairie are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Jack Christopher Madsen, Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Ridgeview Medical Center. Jack weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces, and measured 21 inches long.
Jack is enthusiastically welcomed home by proud siblings, Katie, Pete, Aaron, Ben, Matt, Joey, Kristen, and Lizzie Madsen.
Birth: Lacie Shaye Nelsen
Matthew and Bonnie Nelsen of Cokato are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Lacie Shaye Nelsen, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 8:10 a.m., at Ridgeveiw Medical Center in Waconia. Lacie weighed 5 pounds 9 ounces, and measured 17 1/2 inches long. She is welcomed home by her brother, Dylan, and sister, Marissa.
Proud grandparents are James and Irene Stewart of Dassel, and Kevin and Lori Dircks of Hutchinson. Great-grandparents are Orville and Marion Stewart of Cokato, and Elsie (Gilbert) Riebe of Litchfield.
Birth: Libby Jane Krueger
Nina and Martin Krueger would like to announce the birth of their new sister, Libby Jane Krueger. She arrived Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2008, weighing 9 pounds 1 ounce, and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. Proud parents are Chris and Angie Krueger of Minnetonka.
Grandparents are Kim and Maxine Cates of Dassel, and Walt and Phyllis Krueger of Lake City. Great-grandparents are Lila Cates of Dassel, LeRoy and Gladys Hanson of South Haven, and great-great-grandfather is Arvo Mikkanen of Annandale.
