For the townships with board openings, filing will open Tuesday, Dec. 30, and close Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Camden Twp. finishes recount

Due to a close race, Camden Township felt it was necessary to issue a recount for its position of supervisor. The results of the recount showed that Stan Werner was elected for the position, while Virgil Stender lost by four votes, according to Clerk Roger Sauerbrey.

Victor Twp. has board openings

Sean Groos’ term as treasurer for Victor Township is up, which is a two-year term, along with David Hoover’s position as supervisor, which is a three-year term, according to Clerk Sharon Glessing.

Residents of Victor Township are eligible for the positions, and can call Glessing for more information or to file at (320) 543-2276.

Middleville Twp. approves permit

Middleville Township’s planning board recently approved a conditional use permit for a billboard for Franklin Advertising, according to Clerk Joey Berg.

In other business, Craig Gruenhagen’s term as supervisor is up, which is a three-year term.

Hollywood Twp. to swear in officers

Hollywood Township will be swearing in its members in January. All of the members remain the same, with Becky Burns as clerk, Charles Burns as maintenance supervisor, Ron Kassulker as supervisor, Chuck Schuft as treasurer, and Kent Kassulker as supervisor according to Burns.

Filings to open for Woodland Twp.

Woodland Township will open for filing as Jim Trombley’s term as supervisor is up, which is a three-year term, and treasurer Barb McBrady-Janikula’s term is also up, which is a two-year term, according to Clerk Gloria Janikula.

Marysville Twp. may vacate land

Marysville Township is in the process of deciding what should be done with a landlocked piece of property belonging to the township. The property has belonged to the township since the early 1900s, and has not been developed.

A resident has expressed interest in the land, which is why the township is now considering a possible vacation of the land.

In other business, the township will also be open for filing as Augie Riebel’s term as supervisor is up, which is a three-year term, according to Clerk Dorothy Rahn.

Bergen Twp. continues Zero Ave. work

Bergen Township is continuing work on Zero Avenue, between 155th St. and 135th St., according to Supervisor Francis Burch.

The road was experiencing moisture and erosion problems. Part of the process of fixing the road will include removing the clay from the soil.

Winsted Twp. changes meeting

Winsted Township has set its next meeting for Jan. 22, with an organizational meeting to begin at 7 p.m. and the normal monthly meeting to follow at 8 p.m.
