Funeral services were held Dec. 11, 1997 for Edward H. Hoese, age 70 of Mayer, Minn. He died Sunday, Dec. 7 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
He was born July 13, 1927 at Watertown Township, Carver County, Minn., the son of Edward P. and Martha E. (Hill) Hoese. He was baptized July 24, 1927 at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer by the Reverend F. W. Erthal and confirmed there April 6, 1941 by the Reverend Elmer Schwandt.
On Oct. 4, 1952 he married Marjorie A. Dressel at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, officiated by the Rev. Martin Rische.
Edward was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer serving as trustee and elder. He did both farming and trucking. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing his accordion entertaining at different functions including nursing homes.
Edward is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children and spouses, Patricia and James Burgoyne of Elk River, Linda Wohlforth of Eden Prairie, Sandra Hoese of Richfield, Pamela and James Zabel of Maple Plain, Randy Hoese of Plymouth, Jayne Hoese of St. Louis Park, Michelle Hoese of Little Falls; grandchildren: Zachary, Jason, Christopher, David, Sarah, Scott, Adam, Blake and Derek, and six great-grandchildren.
Further surviving him are brother and sisters-in-law: Wallace and Dolores Hoese of Mayer, Frances Hoese of Glencoe, Elaine Hoese of Mayer; mother-in-law, Alice Dressel of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joanne Dressel of Watertown, Phyllis Tester of Watertown, Tom and Delores Dressel of Glencoe, Jeannette and Allen Thompson of Chico, Calif., Wallace and Vera Dressel of Waconia, Ron and Jane Dressel of Maple Plain, Bev and Rick Armstrong of Waconia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha Hoese; brothers, Oswald and Leonard Hoese, and father-in-law, Paul Dressel.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, Minn., with the Reverend Peter A. Meier officiating. Interment was at
Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Mayer. Casketbearers were David Wohlforth, David Hoese, Gary Hoese, Stephen Hoese, Dale Hoese, Bruce Hoese and Allen Eggers.
