Willard Herman Krause

Willard Herman Krause, age 71, of Delano, who has resided at the Delano Health Care Center since May, 1992, died Sunday, Nov. 16 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Willard was born Feb. 14, 1926, to Herman and Frieda (Topel) Krause in Delano, Minn.

He was a veteran of World War II and an active member of the Delano American Legion.

Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; six brothers, Alfred, Edwin, Roger, Gordon, Richard and Melvin.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda and Richard Ordorff of Buffalo, Barb Gabrelcik of Buffalo, and Ellen Krause of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Lisa and Jay Gabrelcik, Zachary, Bethany, and Gina Ordorff; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Gabrelcik; three brothers Herbert and Loretta of St. Bonifacius, George of Howard Lake, and Fred of Bath, Maine; two sisters, Lidia Wandersee of Howard Lake, Viola and Gerald Frank of Delano; two sisters-in-law, Ellamae Krause of Cokato and Glenna Krause of Arlington; three brothers-in-law, Stan and Doug Bauernschmitt of Maple Plain, and Willie and Joan Bauernschmitt of Montrose; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Bauernschmitt of Maple Plain and Audrey and Richard Krotzer of Maple Plain.

Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 5 - 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano with Rev. David E. Bode officiating. Music was by Carol Wendorff, organist and Mt. Olive Junior Choir.

Interment was in West Mt. Olive Cemetery in Delano with military honors by the Delano American Legion Post. Pallbearers were Willie Bauernschmitt, Lyle Krause, Duane Wandersee, Donald Oslowski, Bradley Krause and Kenny Wandersee. Honorary bearers were five grandchildren: Lisa and Jay Gabrelcik, Zachary, Bethany, and Gina Ordorff.
