Victor Krienke

Victor Krienke, age 79 of Lester Prairie, died Friday evening, Oct. 10, 1997.

He was born in Winsted Township, McLeod County, on June 10, 1918, the son of Adolph and Anna Schmidt Krienke.

Victor was baptized by the Reverend Baumhoefer at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Lester Prairie, on July 7, 1918. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith by the Reverend J.A. Schert at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on March 20, 1932. Victor was given Revelation 2:10 as his confirmation memory verse.

On Nov. 28, 1945, Victor Krienke was joined in holy marriage to Esther Klaustermeier at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. The reverend R. A. Ritz performed the wedding ceremony. God blessed their marriage with two children : Roger and Linda.

Mr. Krienke lived his entire life on his family's homestead in Winsted Township and engaged in dairy farming for many years.

He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie and was a former elder of the congregation.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Roger R. and Katherine Krienke of Lester Prairie; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Duane Plath of Orland Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Kraig Krienke, Vicki Krienke, and fiancee Brad Schuch, Karla Krienke, and Mary Krienke, all of Lester Prairie, Jeffrey Plath of Orland Park, Ill., Jennifer Plath of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Julie Plath and Janet Plath both of Orland Park, Ill.

He is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Argoldie and Wilmer Schubert of Lester Prairie, Rosilvia and Harvey Redepenning of Young America, and Arsilvia and Elmer Loehrs of Mayer; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Elizabeth Krienke of Hutchinson, sister-in-law, Irene Schmidt of Lester Prairie, and nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Krienke was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Anna Krienke; by wife Esther Krienke on Nov. 1, 1978; an infant sister, two brothers: Arthur and Walter Krienke, by a brother-in-law Raymond Schmidt, and by two sisters-in-law: Adela Krienke and Lucinda Krienke.

Funeral services for Victor Krienke were held on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Pastor Gerald Schwanke officiated and interment followed at the church cemetery.

Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Monday, Oct. 13 from 4 till 9 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday, Oct. 14 one hour prior to the funeral service. A Prayer Service was held at the Chapel Monday evening at 8 p.m.

Kendall Mielke was the organist for the funeral service. "I'm But a Stranger Here" "Abide with Me" and "Just As I Am" were sung as congregational hymns.

Lowell Schubert, Arvid, Ken, Daryl, Wallace, and Donald Krienke served as the casketbearers.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
