Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16 for Eleanora L. Krienke, age 79 of Elim Nursing Home Watertown, formerly Waconia. She died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
She was born Sept. 2, 1918 at Waconia Township, Carver County, Minn., the daughter of Otto and Magdalena (Thun) Bollmann. She was one of 13 children.
She was baptized Sept. 15, 1918 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Reverend William Schneider and confirmed by the same April 9, 1933.
On June 22, 1940 she married Howard E. Krienke at Trinity Lutheran Church, in a service officiated by the Reverend William Schneider.
She and her husband, Howard spent many happy hours fishing, visiting relatives, and playing cards. She was employed at Tonka Toys in Mound for many years.
After Howard's death, she lived in Maplecrest Apartments in Waconia and attended adult day care in Norwood Young America. She also lived in Westwood Place and Elim Nursing Home in Watertown.
Eleanora Krienke is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Rev. Howie and Linda Krienke of Minnetonka; Dwayne and Krys Krienke of Mayer, Arthur and Sandi Krienke of Grand Prairie, Texas, Steve Curfman of Norwood Young America; grandchildren: Darla, Jeremy, Nicole, Lisa, Debora, Joshua, Drucilla, Andrew, Lindsay, Sarah, Robert, Kim, Randy and Brandi.
She is further survived by great grandchildren Courtney and Emily; brothers, Raymond Bollmann of Waconia, Julius Bollmann of Cologne; sisters: Gertrude Raymer of Waverly, Iowa; LaVern Curfman of White Bear Lake, Clara Merchant of Mound; sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Emma and Herbie Hoffman of Hutchinson, Hazel and Harry Slipka of Stewart, Arthur and Judy Korson of Stewart and Elaine Korsong of Brownton as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, with the Reverend Dean E. Mahlum and Rev. Karl Galik officiating.
Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia. Grandchildren served as casketbearers.
