Funeral services for Lenora Martha Meyer were held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Officiating was the Rev. Vance Becker. The organist was William Niebuhr and he sang the solo "The Lord's Prayer and played for the congregational hymns "Amazing Grace" and "My Faith Looks Up To Thee." Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in First Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe. Arrangement were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
Lenora M. Meyer was born the daughter of Ernst and Emma (Kuhlmann) Breyer on Jan. 29, 1909 in Bergen Township by the Rev. Buescher and confirmed at the same church by the Rev. Baumhoefner on March 25, 1923. Lenora was united in marriage to William Meyer Sept. 16, 1932 also at the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Bergen Township by the Rev. Schert. On Sept. 29, 1997 Lenora entered eternal rest at the Glencoe Area Health Center - LTC at the age of 88 years and eight months.
She is survived by: daughter, Marlene Van Hoosier and husband Gerald of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren: Gunther Van Hoosier and wife, Jessamyn, of Henderson, Nevada; Paul Van Hoosier and wife, Hortensia, of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren: Marianna, Jordan, Evan, Garrett and Christopher.
She is further survived by sister Lillie Lampher of Lester Prairie and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Emma Breyer; husband William H. Meyer; daughter, Ardys; brothers: Waldemar, Fred and Emil and sister Hilda.
