Einer Alvin Peterson obituary


Funeral services for Einer Alvin Peterson, age 67 of Arizona
and formerly of Hutchinson, were held Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997 at 2 p.m.
at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
Officiating was the Reverend Tom Evans. The organist was
William Niebuhr who played “In the Garden” and sang solos of “How
Great Thou Art” and “On Eagles Wings.” Casketbearers were
Jack Smith, John Thompson, Allan Schlueter, Jim McKay, Rick Voss and Ron
McKay. Interment was in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Einer was born the son of Jorgen A. and Karen M. (Jorgensen)
Peterson on July 2, 1930 in Hutchinson. He was baptized on July 20, 1930
at Faith Lutheran Church, formerly known as Main Street Lutheran, by the
Reverend Svendson. Einer was confirmed by the Reverend N.B. Hanson on April
2, 1944.
Einer attended Hutchinson Public Schools and graduated
in 1948.
On Aug. 2, 1949 Einer was united in marriage to Verona
Schlueter. Einer and Verona moved to Illinois in 1957, where he worked for
the railroad and later for the United States Post Office. In 1968 they moved
to Arizona and then in 1972 they moved back to Minnesota. Einer retired
from the Post Office in 1989 and the couple then returned to Arizona in
1993, where Einer worked for the Gilbert School Bus Company in Gilbert,
Ariz.
Einer was a hardworking man who always loved and thought
highly of his family. He devoted his life to making things better for Verona
and his children. Einer was very supportive of his family and loved to tease
and be teased by them.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, Einer A. Peterson entered eternal
rest at the age of 67 years, five months and 11 days at the Chandler Regional
Hospital in Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Verona of Chandler, Ariz.;
children: Cheryl Hester of Tempe, Ariz., Jerome Peterson of Blaine, and
Colleen Peterson of Chandler; and grandchildren: Steven and Michael Hester
of Tempe, and Brian and Amy Peterson of Blaine.
Further surviving him are his sister Ruth McKay of Hutchinson
and many nephews, great nephews, cousins and one uncle.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jorgen and Karen
Peterson and a sister, Evelyn Peterson.
