Dorothy Mary Boltz

Dorothy Mary (Ackerman) Boltz was born June 12, 1926 in Forest Prairie Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Rohrbeck) Ackerman. As an infant, she was baptized in the Christian faith and later attended the Litchfield schools.

Dorothy was involved with factory work until she met and married Donald Boltz June 6, 1947, in Litchfield. To this union, four children were born. In the first years of marriage, Dorothy worked at Fabri Tech in Cokato. Dorothy spent most of her years as wife, mother, and homemaker.

Dorothy passed away at Cokato Manor Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998. She had reached the age of 71 years, eight months, and nine days.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lillian; by her husband Donald, her daughter, Donna; a sister, Etta Norgren, and a brother, Pete Ackerman; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Sallberg; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Ackerman.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ed Jepson of Darwin, Sandy and Dennis Montgomery of Cokato; a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Josie Boltz; six grandchildren, Donia, Brett, Shannon, Jason, Jessica, and Rhianon.

She is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Makayla; three sisters, Rose and Russ Krueger of Atwater, Bertha and Alex Quast of Watkins, Lorraine Sallberg of Crystal; two brothers, Clifford and Mary Ackerman of Atwater, Donald Ackerman of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Laura Mae Ackerman of Litchfield.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cokato with the Revs. John Peterson and Daniel Buendorf officiating. Music was by Linda Peterson and Jean Paulson.

Interment was at Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Randy Ackerman, Peter Ackerman, Jerry Krueger, Brian Ackerman, Steven Hawker, and Norbert Quast.

Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Cokato and Howard Lake.
