Matthew T. Brandstrom-Thomas
Matthew T. Brandstrom-Thomas, age 19 of Howard Lake, and formerly of Maple Lake and Buffalo, died accidently on Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998.
Matthew was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 20, 1979. He had been employed as a welder at Industrial Louvers in Delano.
He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, A.A. and N.A. Matthew's sobriety anniversary was March 25, 1997.
He is survived by his parents, Brendakay Thomas of Buffalo and special friend, Dan Rassat; Rick (Marlene) Thomas of Rockford; brothers, Kurt Thomas and Joshua Brandstrom; sisters, Angelica and Gabrielle Thomas; foster sisters: Katrina and daughter, Ashley, and Melanie; and a foster brother, Mark.
He is further survived by grandparents, Harlan and Janice Brandstrom of Montrose, Patricia and Frank Jadwinski of Arden Hills, and Robert E. Thomas Sr. of Aitkin; loving partner, Heather Laney of Howard Lake; uncle, Shawn Steinmetz; uncle and best friend, Charles Steinmetz; and many other relatives and friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Strandmark; great-grandfather, Vernor Brandstrom; and great aunt, Vera Tate.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. The Rev. Charles Froehle was the celebrant, and interment followed at the parish cemetery.
Friends called at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo on Wed., Nov. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Charles and Shawn Steinmetz, Kurt Thomas, Jason Dority, Clair Fertig, and Richard Karnos.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
