Funeral services for Lorenz Paul Breuer, 86, of Gaylord were held on Friday, Oct. 2, from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Mr. Breuer died on Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at the Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin.
Pallbearers were Craig Losure, Dana Melius, Ben Melius, Scott Steinhaus, Charles Anderson and Dennis Neisen. Interment was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Breuer was born on Sept. 17, 1912, in Hull, Iowa, to Paul and Maria (Drews) Breuer.
He moved with his parents from Hull in 1927 to a farm in Sibley Township, rural Gaylord.
He married Edna Mueller on Oct. 1, 1936, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart. After their marriage, they farmed in Transit Township, Sibley County. They moved to Finlandson for a few years before returning to Gaylord in 1945, where Mr. Breuer was employed by Abraham Farm Services for many years.
He retired in 1974. After retirement, he did part-time bartending for the city of Gaylord and later for Neisen's Bar.
Mr. Breuer enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching baseball.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Doris Breuer of Gaylord; sisters, Esther Quast of Gaylord and Erna Grewe of Gaylord; son-in-law, Melvin Polzin of Winthrop; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna in 1991; daughters, DeEtta Rys in 1994 and Betty Polzin in 1997; and sister, Katherine Moeller.
The Egesdal Funeral Home of Gaylord handled arrangements.
