Geneva Phyllis Diers was born Aug. 5, 1940 to John and Grace (Werner) Olson in South Haven, Minn. She was the second of four children. While growing up in South Haven, Geneva gave her heart to the Lord as a young girl and was confirmed at Lake Union Covenant Church.
