Clarence Edward "Crete" FitzPatrick
Clarence Edward "Crete" FitzPatrick, age 80 of St. Paul, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Home in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly, with the Rev. Kevin McDonough officiating.
Music will be provided by the Sts. Mary's Church Choir and Jane FitzPatrick-Nilan, who will sing a solo, "Oh Danny Boy." Eulogies will be given by Daniel Herbst, Kenneth Borrell and John Peterson, and scripture reading by Kevin FitzPatrick.
Pallbearers are Daniel Herbst, Gerald May, Elwin Boehlke, Terrance FitzPatrick, Michael FitzPatrick and James Padden. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Willwerscheid & Peters Funeral Home, St. Paul, and two hours prior to services at the church.
Crete was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Waverly to Florian and Catherine (Schafranski) FitzPatrick. He married Virginia M. Bunting on Aug. 20, 1949 in St. Paul.
He was a salesman for Midway Chevrolet in St. Paul, retiring in 1980, and a member of St. Columba and St. Peter Claver Catholic Churches.
Crete is survived by his wife Virgina of St. Paul; daughters, Patricia and Jean (husband Tom Fobbe) FitzPatrick, all of St. Paul; son, Thomas of Minneapolis; brothers and sisters, Bernard of St. Paul, Raymond of Shieldsville, Sr. Rose FitzPatrick, C.S.J. of St. Paul, and Colleen Laughlin of Shakopee; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Leonard; and sisters, Frances, Ann, Mary, Florence, and Dulcina.
