Linda Louise Goede

Linda Louise Goede, age 48 years of rural Waverly, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Linda was born in Watertown on March 10, 1950, the daughter of Donald L. and Betty L. Lange Lundstrom.

She was born again to be God's own child by the "washing of water in the Word" when she was baptized by the Rev. A. F. Vomhof at St. John's Lutheran Church, Winsted, on March 26, 1950.

She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith there by the Rev. E. F. Schroeder on June 2, 1963.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of Lutheran High School, Mayer. Following her graduation from high school, she became employed at Mid-America Dairymen, Winsted. She worked there for the next 30 years and was presently its payroll clerk.

On Aug. 28, 1971, Linda was joined in holy marriage to Ronald O. Goede at St. John's Lutheran Church, Winsted. God blessed their marriage with two daughters: Amy Louise and Lisa Ann.

Linda was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer. She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Winsted. While a member of St. John's, Linda was a Sunday school teacher and a vacation Bible school teacher. She also belonged to its altar guild and had served as an AAL officer.

Linda loved life and she especially loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed her home on Lake Ida, fishing, reading, and quilting.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ron; daughters: Amy L. Goede, Plymouth, and Lisa A. Goede at home; her brother and sisters: David (Pat) Lundstrom, Sioux Falls; Mary (Lowell) Stender, Norwood Young America; Karen (Dale) Jaskowiak, Silver Lake; Shirley (Brian) Sjoberg, Rochester; and Sara (Gary) Fischbach, St. Michael.

Further surviving her are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Frances (Martin) Rolf of Waconia; Dorothy (Harvey) Getz and Marlene (Gene) Olson of Hutchinson; Alice (Bud) Johnson, Plymouth; Sandra Goede, Waconia; Edward (Dolores) Goede, Silver Lake; Gerald (LeAnn) Goede, New Germany; aunts and an uncle: Natalie Paschka, Waverly; Orville (Eunice) Lange, Waconia; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty Lundstrom, and by her sister, Brenda Lundstrom.

Funeral services for Linda Goede were held Saturday, May 16, 1998, 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer with the Rev. Peter Meier officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted on Friday, May 15 from 4-9 p.m. and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. A prayer service was held at the chapel on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Wanda Honebrink was the organist for the service. Sheila Burandt, the vocalist, sang "The Borning Cry."

"Be Still My Soul," "Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness," and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" were sung as congregational hymns.

Ryan and Michael Goede, Josh Jaskowiak, Paul Lundstrom,and Andrew and Christopher Karels were the casket bearers.
