Betty Janet Haggberg was born April 16, 1939 to Joseph and Hilda (Mastrud) Haggberg in Cokato, Minn.
She grew up on a farm north of Cokato, and attended Melquist School through the eighth grade. Betty then continued her education and was a part of the graduating class of 1957 from Cokato High School.
After high school, Betty provided care for her parents until their deaths. She also worked for a number of years at Top Farm Hybrids and at the canning factories in Cokato.
Betty enjoyed doing yard work, putting together puzzles, latch hook, and liquid embroidery. She was very active in the church by helping in the kitchen, office, and also with the WELCA.
Betty went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 21, 1998 in her home in Cokato. She was 59 years, 1 month and 5 days old.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Joanne Knoll of Cokato, Irene and William Fiedler of Cokato; nephews, Benjamin and Sandy Horstman, Leonard and Denise Horstman, John and Debbie Fiedler; nieces Julie and Roger Entinger, Linda and Mark Weber, Lori and Mark Vandersteen; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother William Haggberg, and an infant sister.
Services were Tuesday, May 26, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. The Rev. John A. Peterson officiated and music was provided by Karen Anderson and Joanne Benson.
Casket bearers were Benjamin Horstman, Leonard Horstman, John Fiedler, Roger Entinger, Mark Weber, and Mark Vandersteen. Interment was at Cokato City Cemetery.
