Florence J. Heimerl
Florence J. Heimerl, age 74 of Lester Prairie, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998 at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.
She was born Sept. 7, 1923 in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of Herman and Katherine (Hausladen) Scheer.
Florence was joined in holy marriage to Roman Heimerl on Oct. 29, 1941, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with nine children: Dennis, Doris, Darrel, Duayne, David, Danny, Donna, Diane, and Darlene. Roman preceded his wife in death on Nov. 4, 1995.
A faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Florence also belonged to the auxiliary of American Legion Post 407 and was a member of the St. Anne Society.
Florence worked for 12 years at the Green Giant plants in both Winsted and Glencoe.
She is survived by her children: Dennis (Margie) Heimerl of Plato, Doris Fritz of Cologne and special friend Dick Walter, Darrel (Diane) Heimerl of Cologne, Duayne (Sue) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, David (Elly) Heimerl of New Germany, Danny (Becky) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, Donna Mattson of Iowa Falls, Iowa; Diane (Mark) Onopa of Long Lake, and Darlene Heimerl of Minneapolis.
She is further survived by 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother, Wallace Scheer of Lester Prairie, many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Roman, Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Katherine Scheer; a grandson, Allen James Heimerl; a brother, Edwin Scheer; a sister, Eleanor Guetzkow; and a son-in-law, Bob Fritz.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence was on Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul L. Wolf as the celebrant. Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the mass. Interment followed at the parish cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Sunday, Sept. 6 from 4 to 9 p.m.. A St. Anne Society rosary was recited at the funeral home Sunday at 4:30 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
Casket bearers were Linda Salonek, Lora Kelzer, Jacqueline Ziermann, Jonathan Mattson, and Andy and Brian Heimerl.
