Caroline Helen (Duehn) Kirkpatrick obituary 11/8/98


Caroline Helen (Duehn) Kirkpatrick of Cokato died at the
Cokato Manor on Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, having reached the age of 96 years,
seven months, and nine days.
Caroline was born March 30, 1902 to Emma (Hofrock) Duehn
and Richard W. Duehn in Osceola Township near Bird Island, Minn. She was
the oldest of six children.
She attended teacher’s normal at Brownton, Minn. and taught
in rural schools in Renville County for six years.
Caroline married Thomas E. Kirkpatrick on Oct. 14, 1932.
To this union came one daughter, Helen. Caroline and Thomas farmed near
Olivia until 1955, when they moved to a farm near Cokato.
Caroline leaves to mourn her daughter, Helen (Dan) Nyquist;
three grandchildren: Mark Nyquist, David (Mariana) Nyquist, and Naomi (Patrick)
Gray; four great-granddaughters: Corrie, Christina, Clarissa, and Estera
(whose middle name is Caroline); two brothers, Donald (Gladys) Duehn and
Fred Duehn of the Hector area; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, a granddaughter,
Caroline Ruth; her brother, Carl; and her sisters, Eldora Roker and Leila
Roker.
Graveside services were on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998 with
the Rev. Dan Swanson officiating, and music by Keith Yates. Interment was
at Cokato City Cemetery.
