Loren Lee (Butch) Klitzke

Funeral services for Loren Lee (Butch) Klitzke, 48, of Hutchinson were held Oct. 11 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with the Rev. Gerhard H. Bode offiating.

Mr. Klitzke died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital. He had been diagnosed with brain cancer and died from complications related to his treatment.

The organist was Paul Otte, and the soloist was Jim Wendling, who sang "One Day at a Time." The congregational hymns were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "How Great Thou Art" and "Abide With Me."

The pallbearers were David Konerza, Glenn Arndt, Terry Wendorff, David Rusch, Gary Hahn and Tom Friauf. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Loren Lee Klitzke was born March 27, 1950 in Hutchinson to Louis and Edna (Plath) Klitzke. He was baptized on April 20, 1950, and was confirmed on May 17, 1964 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969.

He helped on the family farm all his life. He also worked summers for the Green Giant Company from 1966 to 1969, and for Burlington Northern Railroad for four years. He also owned and operated a bag storage business storing dairy feed.

Mr. Klitzke enjoyed playing games with his family, such as monopoly, checkers, cars and battleship. He also enjoyed working with his family in the farming operation.

Surviving are his mother, Edna of Hutchinson; sister, Janice Dascher and husband, Duane, of Hutchinson; brother, Dexter Klitzke and wife, Penny, of Darwin; nieces and nephews, Kelly Buresh and husband, Tom, and their children, Tyler and Nicole, of Silver Lake, Kimberly Dascher and fiancee, Cory Sims, and their children, Allyssa and Mitchell, of Hutchinson, and Aaron Johnson and wife, Donna, and their children, Mercedes and Matthew, of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Klitzke.

The Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson handled the arrangements.
