Harry Albert Kriesch
Harry Albert Kriesch, age 98, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998 at the Cokato Manor Nursing Home in Cokato, Minn.
Harry was born May 4, 1900 in South Branch, Minn. He was baptized June 3, 1900 in South Branch, and confirmed April 5, 1914 in Good Thunder, Minn. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Howard Lake.
On June 21, 1933, Harry was married to Fern Lillian Frye in the South Branch Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rolf. Fern and Harry farmed around the Lewisville, Minn. area, before moving to Howard Lake in 1960.
After retiring in 1976, Harry enjoyed helping raise his eight grandchildren and numerous surrogate grandchildren. Later in retirement, he had the joy of raising his 12 great-grandchildren.
Harry touched the lives of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was the pillar of his family. He gave something of himself to each and every person he knew. Harry will always be known and remembered simply as Grandpa. He is now sitting with Grandma and continuing to raise his family in one way or another.
Harry is preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, three brothers, three sisters, and one grandchild, Jeffery.
He is survived by three children: Donald (Janice) Kriesch of Norfolk, Neb.; Maxine Fearing of Howard Lake; and Gerald (Darla) Kriesch of Howard Lake; seven grandchildren and spouses; 12 great-grandchildren and spouses; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998 at Olson Funeral Chapel in Truman, Minn. The Rev. Joel Swedberg of St. John's Lutheran Church, Howard Lake officiated. Interment was in the Antrim Township Cemetery, Lewisville, Minn.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Bruce Zeidler, Troy Kriesch, Greg Schulte, Frank Wilhelm, Todd Sykora, Keith Fearing and Gerald Kriesch, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters: Cindy Zeidler, Liana Kriesch, Diane Schulte, Cheryl Kriesch, Lori Wilhelm, and Hope Sykora.
