Funeral services for George Friedolf Lindell, age 88 of Howard Lake, were Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, 11 a.m., at United Methodist Church in Howard Lake. Interment was at Milbank City Cemetery, Milbank, S.D. George died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998.
George was born Nov. 10, 1910 in Milbank, S.D. to Mary and Gust Lindell. He grew up, was bapized and confirmed in Milbank.
On June 18, 1935, George married Adoree Porter. They lived in Milbank until 1953, except for a time during the war when they resided in Duluth, Minn., where George worked at the shipyards.
While living in Milbank, George worked at Hunter Granite Works as a stone polisher. In 1953, they moved to Howard Lake, Minn. where George worked for Gilmer Monument Works.
George belonged to Moose Lodge in St. Cloud. He was also a member of Walker United Methodist Church in Howard Lake.
George loved the outdoors, gardening, and reading. He lovingly took care of his ailing wife for many years.
He is survived by his wife Adoree; children, Kay Adair (Gerald) Jensen of Askov, Minn. and Mayla Jo Cast of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Jared Jensen, Andrea Jensen, Dennis Dean (Tanya) Warnke, Christian Warnke, Jennifer Warnke, Jessica Cast, Michael Cast, Vanessa Cast, Valarie Cast; and one great-grandchild, Adoree McRaney.
George is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Oscar, and sisters Lilian, Alfrieda and Amelia.
