Adoree Adair Lindell

Adoree Adair Porter Lindell, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998 at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Adoree was born April 7, 1917, at Milbank, S.D. to Mark and Neva May (Dodge) Porter. She grew up in Milbank and on June 18, 1935 was united in marriage to George Friedolf Lindell.

During World War II the couple lived in Duluth, Minn., where George worked in the shipyards. In 1953, the family moved to Howard Lake.

Adoree had been a resident of Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center since July of 1998. At the time of her death, she had reached the age of 81 years, eight months and 16 days.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay (Jerry) Jenson of Askov, Minn. and Myla Jo (Warnke) Cast of Howard Lake; her grandchildren: Jared and Andrea Jensen, Dennis and Deane Warnke, Christian and Jennifer Warnke, and Jessica, Michael, Vanessa, and Valarie Cast; brothers: Bill Porter of Brookings, S.D.; Mylo Porter of Milbank, S.D.; and Roland (Dick) Porter of San Diego, Calif.; and sister, Janice Langum of Volga, S.D.

Adoree is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George, who passed away just two months ago on Oct. 2; her parents, Mark and Neva Porter; brothers: Bud, Darryl, Keny, Bruce, Lloyd, and Charles (Omie); and sisters: Bea, Elaine, and Doris.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. from the Walker United Methodist Church in Howard Lake with the Rev. Marvin Repinski officiating. Music was by Diane Johnson and Rita Mauk. Interment was in the Millbank City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Dennis Warnke, Christian Warnke, Michael Cast, Vanessa Cast, Jessica Cast, and Andria Jensen.
