Wayne Nicholas Luhmann
Wayne Nicholas Luhmann, age 61, died Oct. 29, 1998 at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.
Wayne was born June 17, 1937, to Nicholas and Della Luhmann in Winona, Minn., where he grew up, was baptized and confirmed.
He married Bette Pflughoeft on Aug. 5, 1961 at St. Mary's Church in Winona. To this union came six children.
Wayne lived in Minneapolis, Blaine, LaMoille, and then settled in Howard Lake, where they lived for 27 years. Employed with Adolfson & Peterson, Inc., Wayne worked various jobs in construction and also did some farming.
After 25 years as a carpenter for Local Union 1644, Wayne retired. He enjoyed horses and riding.
Wayne is survived by his wife Bette; six children: Kevin (Kim) Luhmann of Monticello, Kent (Michelle) Luhmann of Winona, Karen (Loren) Broberg of Dassel, Kurt (Shirley) Luhmann of Silver Lake, Kristal (Chad) Stueven of Howard Lake and Korey (Elaine) Luhmann, also of Howard Lake.
He is further survived by eight grandchildren; sisters, Mary Johnson of Winona and Kathleen Nordsving of Rochester; and brothers, Clark Luhmann of Brooklyn Park and Dean Luhmann of Robbinsdale.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, Minn. The Rev. Paul Wolf was the celebrant. Music was by Pat Munson and the St. Mary's Funeral Choir. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Kevin Luhmann, Kent Luhmann, Karen Broberg, Kurt Luhmann, Kristal Stueven, and Korey Luhmann.
