Kendall R. Mielke
Funeral services for Kendall R. Mielke, 39, of New Germany were held on Thursday, Aug. 20, from St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Gerald Schwanke and the Rev. Jack E. Dahl officiating.
Mr. Mielke accidentally drowned at Clitherall near Fergus Falls on Monday, Aug. 17, 1998.
Pallbearers were Daniel Jaeger, Aaron Finke, Larry Michaletz, Mark Unglaub, David Peterman and Daniel Menth. Interment was in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in New Germany.
Mr. Mielke was born on June 16, 1959 in Glencoe to Roland E. and Gladys E. (Hoese) Mielke. He was baptized on July 5, 1959 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. Henry Weseloh and confirmed on May 20, 1973 at the same church by the Rev. Robert Cordes.
On Aug. 9, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mary A. Laue at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert by the Rev. Robert Hintz.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Rachel, Jonathan, Laura, David, Joshua and Kristen; mother, Gladys Mielke of New Germany; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Dick Jaeger of New Germany, Bonnie and Larry Finke of Janesville, Wis.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn and Martin Laue of Fairmont; grandmother, Elaine Diersen of Fairmont; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Laue of Mankato, Russell and Julie Laue of Fairmont, Jeffrey and Julie Laue of Fairmont, Brenda Laue of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sponsor, Lenora Hoese of Watertown; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, William and Bertha Mielke and Otto and Emelia Hoese.
