Sylvan Edwin Millerbernd
Mass of Christian Burial for Sylvan Edwin Millerbernd, 63, of Cedar Mills Township, was held on Thursday, Aug. 6, from St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with the Rev. James Devorak officiating.
Mr. Millerbernd died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Organist was Bev Wangerin, and songleader was Bobbi Cogley. Songs were "Amazing Grace," "On Eagle's Wings," "How Great Thou Art" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Pallbearers were Roger Quast, David Ernhart, Jeff Duenow, Dick Ewert, John Fluher and Ray Schultze. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Mr. Millerbernd was born on July 2, 1935 in Winsted Township, McLeod County, to Frank and Annabelle (Ernhart) Millerbernd. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith. He attended school in Cokato.
On Sept. 22, 1962, he was united in marriage to Cecelia Jochim in Cosmos. They resided in the Cedar Mills and Cosmos areas.
At the time of his death, Mr. Millerbernd was employed by Petersen's Service Center in Cedar Mills, where he drove truck throughout the country.
In his spare time, Mr. Millerbernd enjoyed visiting and having coffee with friends. He and his wife were married for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Cecelia; children, Deanna Ernhart of Largo, Fla., Clinton Millerbernd and fiancee, Vicki Hogrefe, of Hutchinson, Lola Dillion of Hutchinson and Wynona Millerbernd of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Annabelle Millerbernd; and brother, Milton Millerbernd and wife, Darlene, of Glencoe.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel of Hutchinson handled arrangements.
