Raymond K. Neumann, age 75 of Winsted, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998 at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
He was born in Winsted on June 1, 1923, the son of Michael and Clara Fasching Neumann.
Raymond graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1941. He honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II.
On Feb. 27, 1954, Raymond Neumann was joined in holy marriage to Marion Knoop at Ascension Catholic Church in north Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with three sons: Steven, Rick, and Scott.
Raymond engaged in farming west of Winsted. In 1959, the family moved to Minneapolis and Ray was employed by Fairmont Foods. In 1962, they resumed farming near Corcoran, and lived there until 1974, when the family moved to Woodbury. Following his retirement in 1985, Raymond and Marion moved back to Winsted.
Raymond was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and he had served on the Holy Trinity Cemetery Board. He also belonged to American Legion Post 407 in Winsted and to the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Surviving him are his wife Marion, sons Steven (Becky) Neumann of Buffalo, Rick (Bonnie) Neumann of Rockford, and Scott (Sherri) Neumann of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren Joey and Laura; Jesse, Sarah, Rachel, Mary, and Emily; and Jeff and Jacob.
He is further survived by a brother Bill (Frances) Neumann, Lester Prairie; sisters Rosina Anderson, Minneapolis; and Dolores (Ambrose) Lewandowski, Silver Lake; and many other relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and by 10 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond was held Friday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and Lavon Kielkucki was the organist. Interment with military rites followed at the church cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, Thursday, June 18 from 4 to 9 p.m. An American Legion service was held Thursday evening at 7 p.m., a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m.; and a Foresters' rosary was recited at 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Steven, Scott, Joey, and Jesse Neumann, Ed and Debbie Fosdick.
