Michael Pichotta

Michael Pichotta, age 39 of Stewart, passed away Sunday, May 17, 1998 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at St.Boniface Catholic Church, Stewart.

Mike Pichotta was born on Oct. 5, 1958 in Glencoe, Minn., the son of David and Margaret (Schultz) Pichotta. He was baptized in the Catholic faith by the Rev. Sterner, and was confirmed as a youth at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart.

He attended St. Boniface Parochial School and then Stewart High School, graduating in 1977. After high school, he attended Hutchinson Vocational Technical School.

Mike farmed in rural Stewart for seven years and was presently working for McCalls Road Surfacing.

Duck and pheasant hunting seemed to be his favorite sports, but he also enjoyed fishing, archery, playing cards and cribbage with his boys.

Mike is survived by his two sons, Nicholas David and Brent Michael; his brothers: Dave Pichotta and wife Barb and their children, Mary, Kati, and Matthew of Shorewood, Minn.; Rick Pichotta and wife Joanne and their children, Chad, Maggie, and Maxwell, of Lester Prairie, Minn.; and by many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Visitation was on Tuesday, May 19 from 5-9 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Becker and Sister Idamarie Primus officiating.

Organist was Margorie Navara. Special music was "On Eagle's Wings" performed by Rachel Hoffmann and Mary Kasal. Congregational hymns were "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "Be Not Afraid."

Jim Pichotta, Joe D. Pichotta, Andy Pichotta, Marty Pichotta, John Schilling, and Gerhard Ziemann were honorary pallbearers.

Active pallbearers were Tim Sullivan, Dan Kalenberg, Scott Markgraf, Clay Carlson, Dwight Wiechman, and Wes Bell. Interment was in the church cemetery.

An education fund for Mike's two children has been established at Minne-Mine Credit Union, Hutchinson, Minn.
