Orbe F. Reddemann, age 88 of rural Le Center died Friday, May 1, 1998 at the Community Hospital in St. Peter.
He was born Feb. 18, 1910 in Tyrone Township on the family farm where he continued to live until his death. His parents were August and Albertina (Preuhs) Reddemann. He attended District 35 Country School.
One May 24, 1935, he married Dorothy Braun at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. He farmed the family Tyrone Township farm for many years and continued to live there in retirement.
Reddemann was a member of the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. He was a charter member of the Pioneer Power Association and was a former director of its board.
Before joining the United Methodist Church, he had been treasurer of both the Tyrone and Dresselville churches. He also was caretaker for the Salem-Tyrone Cemetery for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Sheldon (Donna) Reddemann of Howard Lake, Minn., daughter, Corinne (Dale) Swanson of Austin, Minn.; seven grandchildren: Michelle (Glenn) Hofer, Renee (Rod) Ellison, Jay Reddemann, Scott (Molly) Swanson, Jeff (Traci) Swanson, Dan Swanson and Cindy (Dan) Rietveld.
He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Kayle and Jamie Hofer; Krista, Amanda and Jessica Swanson; Damien and Dominique Rietveld, and foster sister, Gladys Magedanz of Le Sueuer.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Le Sueur. The Reverend Wayne L. Walther officiated. Interment was in the Salem-Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone Township.
