Ruth C. Rolf obituary 12/1/98


Funeral services for Ruth C. Rolf, 75, of Lester Prairie
were held Dec. 5 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the
Rev. Grant Bode officiating.
Mrs. Rolf died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 at the Glencoe
Area Health Center.
The organist was Jane Holasek, and the congregational hymns
were “Jesus Lives, The Victory’s Won,” “Nearer My God to
Thee” and “How Great Thou Art.” The soloist was Claire Larson
and she sang the solo, “Supper Time.”
The pallbearers were Lowell Ittel, David Oelfke, Marvin
Stoeckmann, Jim Thiel, Richard Stoeckmann and Arthur “Buddy” Michaelis.
Interment was in the church cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Ruth C. Rolf was born to Dietrich and Elise (Wroge) Stoeckmann
on Feb. 17, 1923 in Hamburg. She was baptized on Feb. 25, 1923 at Emanuel
Lutheran Church in Hamburg by the Rev. Baumann. She also was confirmed by
the Rev. Baumann at the same church on March 21, 1937.
She attended high school in Glencoe until her graduation
in 1941.
On. Nov. 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Oscar Rolf
at Emanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. Bauman. The couple made their home
on Oscar Rolf’s home farm in rural Lester Prairie. At that time, she joined
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, where she was a member of
the Ladies Aid and also sang in the church choir.
Mrs. Rolf was employed by Tonka Toys in Mound for 19 years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and spending time with
her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Oscar, of Lester Prairie; children,
Pamela Farber and husband, Leroy, of Montrose, Jerry Rolf and wife, Susan,
of Lester Prairie, and Roger Rolf and wife, Kate, of Frazee; grandchildren,
Chad Farber, Nancy Farber, Abby Rolf, Cody Rolf, Serena Rolf and Elissa
Rolf; great-grandchildren, Taylor Keinholz and Briana Keinholz; sisters,
Martha Luebke of Waconia and Erna Thiel of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law,
Eleanora Kennedy of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Lillian Schultz of Rapid
City, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William
and Carl Stoeckmann; and sisters, Hilda Oelfke and Eleanor Michaelis.
The Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie handled
arrangements.
