Amy Anna Schuneson

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 9, 1998 for Amy A. Schuneson, age 85. She died Thursday, Feb. 5 at Cokato Manor Nursing Home, Cokato, Minn.

Anna Emie Matilda Hedlund was born Oct. 1, 1912, to Louis and Mary (Olson) Hedlund near Kingston, Minn. She attended the Happy Corners School and finished after eight years. When she was 17, she became employed at the Ebenezer Home in Buffalo, Minn.

In her adult years, she changed her name to Amy Anna. She was married to David Shuneson March 23, 1935 at her parental home near Kingston. The couple resided and farmed near Buffalo, later moving to the Albion area. Their marriage was blessed by the Lord with two children, Carolyn and Richard. During these years, the family attended the Albion Free Church.

In 1967, they moved from the farm into the city of Cokato, where they attended First Baptist Church. She had resided at Cokato Manor since 1993.

Amy was employed at Richwell Industries from 1959 until her retirement in 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (Beryl) Munson, Minnetonka; a son, Richard (Diana), Carlsbad, Calif.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Emily Klima and Hildur Nicholson of Cokato, and Elsie Lundeen, Springfield, Mo.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers, Bernard, Hjalmer, Arvid, Carl, Otto, Ferdinand, Clarence, Lawrence, and Sexton; and four sisters, Selma Caroline, Selma Sophie, Irene Hedlund and Hazel Lundeen.

Services were held at the First Baptist Church, Cokato, with the Rev. Dan Swanson officiating. Music was by Patricia Munson, Paul Munson, Beryl Munson and Jessie Munson.

Casketbearers were John and Carla Hausladen, James D. and Beth Klar, Paul and Elisabeth Munson, Philip and Jodi Munson, and Melanie Shuneson. Interment was in Cokato City Cemetery.
