Memorial services for Joseph Lee Skelton, 19, of Glencoe
were held on Thursday, Oct. 1, from the First Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Glencoe, with the Rev. Vance Becker officiating.
Mr. Skelton died at his home on Sept. 27, 1998.
Organist was Bill Niebuhr, and the congregational hymns
were “Amazing Grace,” “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”
and “Rock of Ages.”
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jim Struss, Jason
Ross and Ron Skelton. Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Skelton was born to Diane (Skelton) Raduenz on Sept.
6,1979 in Hutchinson. He was baptized at the Church of Peace in Glencoe
and was confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe by the
Rev. Kath and Rev. Becker on April 24, 1994. He attended Glencoe High School
through the 12th grade.
Mr. Skelton loved playing any type of sports, but especially
loved anything outdoors. He enjoyed family get togethers and found great
joy in helping others.
Survivors include his parents, Diane and Gary Raduenz of
Glencoe; sisters, Jennifer and Stephanie Raduenz of Glencoe; grandparents,
Darlene and Darwin Raduenz of Glencoe, Marlys and Harold Rusch of Hutchinson,
Duane Skelton of Golden Valley; uncles and aunts: Ron Skelton, Kevin Raduenz,
Roger and Cheryl Raduenz, Linda and Mike Tassinari, Kathy Raduenz, Cindy
Fern and Roger Nieland, Mary and Scott Black, Deb and Kevin Settergren,
Laura Ruscher, Pam Skelton; great uncle and aunt, Jim and Kathy Steele;
also many cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by an uncle, Dennis Lee Skelton.
The Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel of Glencoe handled arrangements.
