Henry T. Skweres obituary 12/14/98


Henry T. Skweres, 74, of Harvard, Ill. and a graduate of
Silver Lake High School, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998 at Rockford Memorial
Hospital.
Henry was born Aug. 30, 1924 in St. Paul, Minn. to Max
Henry and Tillie Wawrzyniak Skweres. On May 15, 1948, he married Julia Hrymak
in Chicago.
He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1944, and
was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He
worked as a truck driver for Coastal Tank Liners and Producer’s Transport
Inc. in Summit.
Henry was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Harvard,
the Harvard Moose Lodge 1289, the Melrose Park Knight’s of Columbus and
Teamster’s Union Local 705.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Don) Larson of
Harvard and Nancy (Steve) Elander of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; four grandchildren,
Jenny and Jodi Larson and Yvonne and Stephanie Lyngass; three brothers:
Daniel Skweres of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Max Skweres of St. Paul; and Frank
John Skweres of Outing, Minn.; and a sister, Maxine Haekenkamp of Winsted.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on
Nov. 22, 1986; a son, Robert, in 1980; and a brother, LeRoy.
Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 17 at Saunders and McFarlin
Funeral Home in Harvard. The funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday,
Dec. 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Harvard, with the Rev. Richard
Kramer officiating. Interment was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart or American
Diabetes Association.
