Funeral services for Linnea L. Stender, 50, of New Germany
were held Monday, Aug. 24 from St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany,
with the Rev. Jack E. Dahl officiating.
Mrs. Stender died on Aug. 20, 1998, at her home in New
Germany after a battle with cancer.
Pallbearers were her nieces and nephews, Holly Schultz,
Tyler Trende, Michael Nobel, Mark Stender, Cory Schultz and Jamie Jopp.
Interment was in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
Linnea L. Schultz was born to Victor and Eldoris (Litfin)
Schultz on Oct. 22, 1947 at Waconia. She was baptized on Nov. 9, 1947 at
St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. John Meyer and confirmed
on March 26, 1961 at the same church by the Rev. Weseloh.
On Oct. 30, 1965, she was united in marriage to James Stender
at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. Weseloh.
In 1974, they opened the Dutchman Bar, which they ran for
21 years.
Mrs. Stender enjoyed fishing, flower and vegetable gardening,
walking, boating, playing cards, traveling and being a grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, James; daughters and sons-in-law,
Stacy and Tom Derner of Mayer, Jody and Wayne Snow of Mayer and Angela Stender
of New Germany; grandchildren, Dillon Derner and Haley and Brayden Snow;
parents, Victor and Eldoris Schultz of New Germany.
She is further survived sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorinda
and Curtis Brown of California, Mardeen Schultz of California, Laurie and
Dave Trende of Mayer, Julie and John Jopp of Watertown; brothers and sisters-in-law,
Bradley and Vickie Schultz of Mayer, Jerry and Bonnie Schultz of Winsted,
Scott Schultz of Winsted; grandmother, Hilda Litfin of Winsted; mother-in-law,
Eleanor Stender of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bette and
Terry Noble of Burnsville, Jane and Eric Saltvold of Minnetonka, Alan and
Rhonda Stender of North Branch, Kevin Stender of Waconia; and nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leonard
Litfin Sr., Ewald and Minnie Schultz; father-in-law, Harold Stender; and
sister-in-law, Lynette Stender.
