Audrey E. Strandquist, 81, of Oster and Elim Nursing Home
in Watertown, died Wednesday, October 28, 1998, at Ridgeview Medical Center
in Waconia, Minn.
Audrey Strandquist was born in Osage City, Ks. on Dec.
20, 1916. She graduated from Osage City High School; then taught school
in Kansas before moving to Minnesota.
On Nov. 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to Wallace
A. Strandquist in Minneapolis. Wallace and Audrey farmed in Wright County
in the Oster community.
Audrey spent the last year at Elim Home in Watertown. She
was a faithful member of the Oster Covenant Church and taught Sunday School
many years.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace; daughter and son-in-law,
Lois and Glenn Fredeen of Orono; grandchildren, Pam and husband Jon Bloom
of Minneapolis and Julie Fredeen of Plymouth.
She is further survived by great-grandchildren, Levi and
Eliana Bloom; her sisters, Novia (Willard) Strandquist of Oster, Louella
(Harry) Johnson of Watertown, Joyce (Doug) Erickson of Plymouth; sister-in-law,
Ruth (Calvin) Deidrick of Oster; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives
and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Oster Covenant Church
in rural Waverly at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998 with Rev. Robert
Ramphal and Rev. John Mulvihill officiating.
Jon Bloom sang “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and
Loree Dobratz and Betty Gruette, accompanied by Ruth Deidrick, sang “My
Savior First of All.”
Interment was in the Oster cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim
Deidrick, Paul Erickson, Gordon Lund, Darrell Plucker, Larry Strandquist,
and Steve Strandquist.
Arrangements were with Chilson Funeral Home of Winsted,
Minnesota.
