Funeral services for Adeline Thies, 74, of Silver Lake were held on Friday, Nov. 13 from the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with the Rev. Daniel Buendorf officiating.
Mrs. Thies died on Nov. 9, 1998, at Meeker County Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers were Darin Pavlish, Bryan Pavlish, Joshua Thies, Troy Smutka, Trent Smutka, Justin Thies and Peter Lindstrom. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and special friends, Deb Wingert and Jane Gaw. Interment was in the Litchfield Cemetery.
Adeline Kulinski was born on June 3, 1924 in Silver Lake to Vincent (Jim) and Victoria (Smykalski) Kulinski. She attended District 27 country school through the eighth grade.
She married Robert Gimbert on June 24, 1944; Earl Skoog on Sept. 2, 1947 and Glyndon E. Thies on March 23, 1957.
During her working years, Mrs. Thies was employed at Jenny-O-Foods of Litchfield, 3M, Tonka Toys and Fingerhut.
Her hobbies include flowers, gardening, reading, writing letters, cooking, shopping and birdwatching. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Litchfield.
Survivors include her children, Lyle and JoAnn Gimbert of Hutchinson, Sandra Bonniwell of Hutchinson, Juanita and Nathan Smutka of Hutchinson, Eugene and Dianna Skoog of Dassel, Erlynn Riebe of Litchfield, Maureen Schlueter of Hutchinson, Glen Thies of Eden Valley, Connie and Paul Lindstrom of Grove City and Jim and Barb Thies of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Duane Pavlish of Mayer; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Violet Mondry of St. Paul, Gertrude Buske of Olivia and Shirley DeBlock of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Kulinski; brother, Leo Kulinski; daughter, Randea Pavlish; granddaughter, Sherri Schlueter; and a grandson, Tony Smutka.
The Maresh Funeral Home of Silver Lake handled arrangements.
