James M. Albers
James M. Albers, age 57 of Winsted, Minn., died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at his residence.
James was born in Minneapolis on Jan. 3, 1942. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1959. Following his graduation from high school, James attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and later, the University of Minnesota.
He had owned and operated Jim's Bakery in Winsted for 12 years and was a former grocer in Indianola, Neb.
James also served for many years as a hospital administrator in both Minnesota and Colorado.
On May 12, 1982, James was united in holy marriage to Elizabeth "Liz" Baltazar at Fort Morgan, Col.
James was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and belonged to Holy Family Council #204.
Jim also liked the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Liz; three children: Jeff (Deb) Albers of Winsted, Sue (Bill) Keenan of West St. Paul, and Karen (Dan) Stifter of Aitkin; seven grandchildren: Rebecca, Kathleen, John, Daniel, Anna, Levi, and Jennifer; his parents, Norbert and Monica Albers of Winsted; two sisters, Betty (Dennis) Rehmann and Jeanette Albers, all of Winsted; and nine nieces and nephews.
He is further survived by his godparents, the Rev. Maynard Kegler, OMI, and Rose Seguin; his parents-in-law, Tony and Faye Baltazar; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Laura Baltazar, all of Fort Morgan, Col.
James was preceded in death by a son, Jacques Eric Albers, on Feb. 6, 1999.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, May 15, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with the Revs. Maynard Kegler, OMI, and Paul Wolf as the concelebrants. Cory Albers and Dennis Rehmann served as urn bearers. Special music for the Mass was provided by Lavon Kielkucki.
Gary Campbell, Paul Paradis, Mike Nathe, and Dave Gay served as honorary casket bearers. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Friday, May 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Holy Family Council Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
