Dorothy I. Anderson

Dorothy I. Anderson, age 71 of rural Howard Lake, died Friday, March 3, 2000, in Tucson, Ariz.

She was born in Wausau, Wisc., April 19, 1928, the daughter of Virgil Van Wagner and Erma Moots Van Wagner .

On Sept. 18, 1976, Dorothy was joined in holy marriage to Russell Anderson in New Brighton.

Dorothy enjoyed living on Lake Mary. She also found much enjoyment in her hobbies of sewing, crocheting, tending to her flowers and feeding the birds.

She was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winsted.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Russell of rural Howard Lake; a daughter, Carol Ann (Gary) Larson of Jordan; step-children, Rodney (Sandi) Anderson of Eagan, and Diane (Richard Larsen) Sheehy of Mahtomedi; grandchildren, Lisa Skille, Erica (Troy) Tikalsky, Eric (Stephanie) Larson, Sarah Larson, Ross Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Jason Sheehy, Kathryn Sheehy, and Alyson Sheehy; three great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Victor Van Wagner of Eagan; a sister-in-law, Helen Van Wagner of Fridley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Erma Van Wagner; and by a brother, Arthur Van Wagner.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 8, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Gerald L. Boldt officiating. Interment followed at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home Wednesday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Marsha Christianson served as organist. "Amazing Grace-How Sweet the Sound," "How Great Thou Art," and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" were sung as congregational hymns.

Jason Sheehy, Ross Anderson, Eric Larson, Cory Templin, Bryan Dietel, Troy Tikalsky and Stephanie Larson served as casket-bearers. Honorary casketbearer was Ryan Anderson.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
