Bruce R. Boehland
Bruce R. Boehland, age 58 of Minneapolis and formerly of Montrose, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 at Colonial Place in Minneapolis.
He was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Bertha, Minn., the son of Ivan and Doris Current Boehland.
Bruce served his country in the United States Army from Dec. 28, 1960 to Dec. 27, 1966.
He was a former employee of Tonka Toys in Mound.
Survivors include a daughter, Darla K. Boehland and fiancee Tim Yager; a son, Barry R. Boehland and loving companion, Sarah Severson; a granddaughter, Amanda Yager; all of Montrose.
He is further survived by his farther, Ivan Boehland of Henning; a sister, Sharon (Alex) Conley of Fergus Falls; a niece, Colleen Conley; a nephew, Alan Conley; and other relatives and friends, including Bruce's former wife, Diane K. Johnson.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Boehland in 1974.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. John P. Folkerds officiating. Ruth Fry was the organist. "Amazing Grace-How Sweet the Sound" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung as congregational hymns. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Friends called at Peterson Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service was at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
