Lyle A. Bruhn
Lyle A. Bruhn, age 71 of Hollywood Township, Mayer, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis.
Lyle was born June 29, 1928, at Minnetrista, Minn., the son of Harry E. and Esther (Thurk) Bruhn. He was baptized Oct. 25, 1942, at Minnetrista Baptist Church, St. Bonifacius, by the Rev. August Lutz.
On June 15, 1949, Lyle married Gladys N. Johnson at Evangelical Free Church, Watertown, by the Rev. Arthur Anderson.
Lyle farmed his entire lifetime. He also drove a milk truck for many years.
Survivors include his wife Gladys; children, David Bruhn of Mayer, Beverly and Donnie Cooper of Exeter, Mo.; Edward Bruhn of Mayer, and Bonnie and John Krueger of New Germany; nine grandchildren: Conway Bruhn, Ryan and Jason Porter, Andy Krueger, and Cody, Cory, Coby, Christopher, and Colton Bruhn; and great-grandchildren, Ashley and James Bruhn.
Lyle is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Vernon Johnson of East Grand Forks, Evelyn Gregg of Excelsior, and Arlene and Jack Dahl of Mound; brothers and sisters-in-law, LeRoy and Phyllis Bruhn of St. Bonifacius, and Wesley and DeDe Bruhn of Plymouth; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marlin and Sharon Johnson of Delano, Arles Johnson of Mound, and Shirley Roach of Marysville, Wash.; as well as nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Lyle was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harry and Esther Bruhn; sisters, Bernice Bruhn, Elaine Johnson, and Betty Ann Danielowski; brothers-in-law, Warren Gregg and Donald Danielowski; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Esther Johnson.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 6, 1:30 p.m., at Evangelical Free Church, Watertown, with the Rev. Bob Jenkins officiating. Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
Ryan Porter, Jason Porter, Andy Krueger, Donald Bruhn, Chris Landberg, and Daniel Formato served as casket bearers.
Visitation was Wednesday, April 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
