Howard F. Chalupsky
Funeral services for Howard F. Chalupsky, 79, of Silver Lake were held Tuesday, May 25, from the Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, with the Rev. Bob Mraz officiating.
Mr. Chalupsky died on Monday, May 21, at Glencoe Area Health Center long term care.
Organist was Val Shamla and the Holy Family adult choir sang.
The pallbearers were Laurence Homan, Jr., Gregory Quiring, Tom Chalupsky, Ronald Kaczmarek, Milan McLain and Dale Kosek. Interment was in St. Adalberts Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Mr. Chalupsky was born to Blanche (Kasper) and Frank H. Chalupsky on Feb. 8, 1920, in Silver Lake. He graduated from Silver Lake High School and attended the University of Minnesota.
On Jan. 31, 1948, Mr. Chalupsky was united in marriage with Dodie Josephine Slanga. The couple resided in Silver Lake.
Mr. Chalupsky worked as a truck driver. He also owned and operated school buses and was city clerk and treasurer.
Mr. Chalupsky was active in his church where he was on the board of trustees for 32 years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 141, Silver lake, and Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Chalupsky enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, reading, fishing and book collecting. He also was a spectator at soccer games and hockey, and enjoyed going to concerts.
Survivors include his wife, Dodie Josephine Chalupsky, Silver Lake; brothers and sisters, Cecelia Homan, Mary Burich and Francis Slanga; sister-in-law, Virginia Chalupsky and brother-in-law, Lee Kohls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Frank Chalupsky, brother Tom Chalupsky, and sister-in-law Magladen Kohls.
The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake handled arrangements.
