Marlene Kay Curry
Marlene Kay Curry, age 40 of Howard Lake, died suddenly Tuesday, March 28, 2000.
Marlene was born May 20, 1959. She was baptized and confirmed as an adult Oct. 12, 1997, by the Rev. Michael Nirva at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake.
Marlene was united in marriage to Edward Curry and had two children. In recent years, they had made their home on a small farm north of Howard Lake.
Marlene enjoyed gardening, sewing, making quilts, baking, and reading.
At the time of her death, she had reached the age of 40 years, 10 months, and eight days.
Marlene was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edward Curry, Sr.; and her mother-in-law, Betty Ulik.
Survivors include her loving husband Edward; a son, Duane; a daughter, Michelle, all of Howard Lake; her mother, Zelda Torgerson; one sister, Kathy (Lance) Thoemke; brothers and sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, March 31, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Revs. Martin Schoenfeld and Nirva officiating. The organist was Nancy Butterfass, with special music by the Ladies Choir. Interment was at St. James Lutheran Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Pallbearers were Larry Rushmeier, Ronald Relopez, Rodney Tacker, Perry Curry, Mike Curry, Dennis Curry, and Mark Hansen.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
